The deal thread we were running is now closed, but see below info on our new 72SL nonetheless!
Thanks to everyone who participated!

Awhile ago we introduced our new 72SL, but it was to limited distribution so couldn't be found many places.
Find it here: https://amzn.to/36dBmbe

It's an evolution of the popular 65SL just better in each way.
720lumens
USB-C now
Larger battery
Fast charging
Magnets on the back as well, back has been flattened for this purpose

I really like everything Astro that I've bought thus far. Looking forward to giving these items a whirl.

Who has recommendations for black lights?

Dang, I don't need another one, the 52SL is so great, but looks like I'm doing early Christmas shopping for someone. PM en route

Too bad you're not doing this with the 52SL. It's been my favorite light I own and I need an excuse to buy another one. The UV socket set is cool too.

Who has used these sockets before? Are they really easy to see in dark garage?

Thanks Chris. Order placed and PM sent.

I have the 10mm 4 pack that was included in a previous BOGO Deal. They really stand out under UV in the dark. Great for dark garage corners, working in the yard, or in a road side kit where things tend to get lost under less than ideal conditions.

Just waiting for Amazon.com to be the seller of the 100SL instead of a 3rd party seller so I don't have to pay for shipping.

I received my light yesterday and my sockets today. After putting the light through it's paces I quite like it. It's an improvement over the 65SL in most respects. I don't like the side mounted intensity dial on the new 72SL as much as the rear mounted dial on the 65SL but I understand the location change was necessary to allow the rear magnet to be used. What confuses me is that the on/off switch is on the back where it can't be reached when you're using the rear magnet!

Oh, and my socket set arrived with a duplicate 1/4" drive shallow 10mm socket! I don't know if that was intentional or not but I greatly appreciate it @Astro_Pneumatic_Tools !

Every set we made had at least one duplicate 10mm size. Maybe 1 in 10 has 2 extra 10mm in different drive sizes. 1 in 100 have 3 extra in the set.
I think you're the 1st person to notice publicly oddly
That is a fantastic idea that others should take note of! And my extra socket is a shallow 1/4" drive which is by far my most used 10mm!

Just checked my sets and have a duplicate 1/4 drive shallow 10mm also. Another simple Easter egg that continues to raise my appreciation of Astro!

I received my light in two days and the sockets the next. Have not had a chance to use it yet.I have 3 of the slim HF Braun lights and actually liked them BUT the battery is getting short and the swivel on the light is getting too loose and doesn't stay in place. I first thought this Astro light was a bit dim but, duh, didnt realise the brightness adjustment until i read the qouted post. The brightness I think blows away the HF light. I didnt read the directions and it took me a bit to find the on/ off which is better than the HF light becasue i always wind up bumping it and turning off when trying to adjust positions. I may wind up having to order another after finding the brightness adjustment. only thing io see that may use some improvement is the plastic swivel hanger on the end. I can see it getting broken off.

The light AND the sockets both arrived on the same day last week.

The light is a little bit bigger than I expected. It arrived with a pretty fully charged battery, and puts out a good amount of light. Both from the 'spot' flashlight at the tip and from the main strip light.

The magnets are pretty strong and hold the light well. The rear swivel magnet seems very handy too.

Although when using the rear magnet you can no longer access the power button. Will have to see if that is a minor or major pain in use or no big deal.

Just found out that at least one of my car hoods is aluminum. Will have to see just how well the magnet(s) and/or hook work off the hood latch loop.

And although I looked at the sockets when I got them, I didn't fully inspect them. Or count them. Just noticed the bonus socket today. A bonus 1/4 drive shallow 10mm socket. Thanks for the bonus.

 to Astro and Chris.

I got my light and sockets as well. Nice tools, just as I expected from Astro Tools. I'm currently using the light for a taping and spackling job in a poorly lit basement. I'm using the light to inspect/spot check my work, and it is helping tremendously. It's just the right sized and weight, no complaints at all. Thanks Chris for this great BOGO deal!

Got the light and sockets Friday. Checked out the light, and even used it a little already - now to deal with which light to use (72SL or 80 SL)...

What's safe for cleaning the sockets without taking off the high-vis stripes? I usually use mineral spirits (parts washer - but it's down for now)) or brake-parts cleaner for cleaning tools.

Thanks again for the BOGO, Chris!

My light arrived yesterday, the sockets the day before. Finally opened both last night.

I appreciate the sockets, no chintzy plastic box to agonize over keeping, or warrantying later. Just 4 nice socket rails, one per set, with room for a little expansion. The extra 10mm socket in 1/4" drive. Won't give them a test drive for a few weeks, too much going on right now to go get dirty.

The light is charging, next to my 52SL. Will try it out side by side later tonight. I think this one is destined for a gift for my nephew, or a favorite co worker who just bought a house, and is also a car nut. Get one of them hooked on Astro too.

Thanks Chris & Astro for the BOGO deal

I've been using my 72SL for a little while now and I've discovered an issue with it. My 72SL won't charge with any USB type C charger I own. The only charger I've tried that works is the included type A to type C charger/cord. This makes me think that the 72SL is using an old charge controller that doesn't conform to any of the USB type C power delivery specifications and thus won't charge with USB type C chargers. I've never come across a USB type C device that won't charge with the standard USB type C protocols and chargers before. It's particularly annoying because all my charging infrastructure uses normal USB type C chargers that work will all my devices interchangeably (the whole point of the widespread adoption of USB type C), apart from the 72SL it seems. Best I can tell they soldered on a USB type C port without doing the work to make it conform to USB type C charging standards thus forcing me to use the included dedicated charger. I reached out to Astro here and directly through their web site a week ago but they never responded to my questions.
