These just came out and seem to be on par with the Snap On classic 96 for $1000 less retail. Now my Cornwell guy said he can cut me a great deal on one with trade and some electrical work on his boat. So has anyone seen one in person? I need a bigger and better quality box bad. Please don't recommend the HF box. I just have zero interest in it. The amount I may have to pay out of pocket might be zero going this route.

I haven't seen one in person, and really don't have any experience with Cornwell boxes but, one thing you said seemed to catch my eye.

If I were looking for motivation to buy an awesomely large toolbox from a reputable brand, That would probably be enough for me.

Good Luck with whatever you chose!

I hate to say it, but www.strictlytoolboxes.com has some nice Extreme Professional Boxes and some Montezumas that are as nice, or nicer than the Cornwell...

The Montezuma is $2,445.00 and weighs almost 300 pounds MORE than the Cornwell!!!:eyecrazy::eyecrazy:

The Extreme Professional is $3,595.00 and weighs 630 pounds MORE than the Cornwell!!!:eyecrazy::eyecrazy:

And they are both 30" deep, whereas the Cornwell is only 24"...:eyecrazy::eyecrazy:

It's your money, so spend it however you want, but if I could save money, and get a better box, I know which way I'd jump...:rocker::rocker::rocker:

I would go that route BUT they wont take my box on trade or exchange labor for the balance. If I had the CASH I would definitely got the Extreme or Montezuma. Has anyone seen one in person?

BROWNSFAN: Thanks for your post...I figured I was going to get hammered for my previous post, but I did tell you the truth...

If there is NO CASH involved, your way makes a lot of sense...

You're still going to get a real nice box...hope everything works out to your satifaction...there are several posts on the Montezuma, I don't know about the Extreme...I'm buying the Extreme 55" later this year...if my money works out...

Not hammering you just telling my situation. I guess Cornwell gave a great deal to the dealers and that's why he is willing to go this route. I have looked at strictlytoolboxes more times than I can count trying to figure out how I could swing it. The one other feature I like about Cornwell boxes is the drawer pulls. They use a "grip latch" style and not detents.

I have seen one on the Cornwell truck and it is short. It seemed ok, he claimed that it was not as high quality as the normal Cornwell boxes but still plenty good.

I have had an matco 4s and older 67in Cornwell double bay. I traded my 4s for a bran new snap on krl7022 and about 4 months later i,sold it and bought a Cornwell classic series.. I love the Cornwell boxes there latch system is the best out there.. I feel that both the cornwels i have had are up to par with the krl7022 i had.. I hated everything about the krl except the 30in depth.. The layout was useless to me..but it was a quality box just not for me..

How short is it? Like the snap on classic 96? I'm short so that's not a big deal

About the same, my dealer had a couple of regular boxes on his truck and when he got that new one in I noticed the height difference right away.

Yea it would look short next to the 67" one. My guy had one on the truck and it seriously was almost chest high to me. The regular boxes remind me of snap on Epiqs. Size wise anyway. He offered me a good deal on a 67" as well but I would have had to come up with some cash. It was black with all chrome trim. It was a damn **** tool box. The drawers were so deep when you opened one it would hit the other side of the truck. That would hold all my stuff and then some.

Here's one next to a classic 96. Not the best pic but you can see its a little taller.

Well it's no use now. My Cornwell guy just quit/went under or Cornwell terminated him. I don't know the story. They gave me the number to the next closest dealer that is 25-30 miles away. I just got in contact with a Mac dealer and I have a snap on guy so we will see what happens. I really liked the Cornwell boxes the most. They just looked better to me and the drawer pulls are the best out there

On that box I like the way they beveled down the right side half-height drawer support to match the drawer pulls. That's a nice touch.

If it were me that was your closest dealer, I could not sell you on a credit account but I would give you a deal on cash. Heck, it's not that hard to beat any tool truck corporate finance rate if you have half way decent credit.

That's right brownsfan, the 75 is like a tech series mac line, if you want a good built box go with the 67" cornwell you can customize it any way you want. I just bought a cornwell after having mac for over 20 years, looked inside the cornwell with a few drawers pulled out, built just as good or better than snapon or any of em.(I know this is a older post hope someone looking for a box will get this info).
