New AC to be installed in December - any ?’s?

So I ordered in May knowing my new furnace/AC wouldn’t be installed until Dec-Feb due to availability. Any particular questions I should ask or things to make sure of? It’s usually about 25-40 degrees F the week of Christmas here….
I’m not so worried about the gas furnace part - that’s east to test year round - but how about the AC portion? Salesman was typical “it’ll be fine we’ll come back if it’s not.” They’re the largest outfit around so I don’t doubt they’ll come back, more just trying to make sure I provide anything necessary for success the first time around.

Installation is everything, be it cheap system or one of the name brands. If they are using in house guys or subs, either one is very important to the success of your system and will help with the longevity. How long is your warranty, parts and labor then parts after the labor warranty drops off?
So don't know if this is a DIY project or if your having a company doing the install. When I was working for a small company there were no middle man such as a salesman, that kinda makes me wonder if there is up charge to cover his commission which there is nothing wrong with that. Lot of the bigger companys use a salesman.

At 25-40 degrees it will be hard, maybe impossible to vacuum the system. Normally you want the entire system 70+ degrees F.

A/c's aren't designed for low temp operation. Reasoning was - if the outdoor temp was below 65-70 deg - you didn't need cooling. If an early bird wanted me to come out and beat the rush by checking their A/C early I told them the temps really mattered, as it wasn't easy to get an accurate freon charge with low temps. Really wanted it to be 90-95 to check the charge. I had ways of "tricking" the unit into thinking it was warmer but I doubt a typical installation crew is gonna do those. Best to write it into the contract that they'll come back out in May and check the A/C operation then when it's warmer. JMHO.

Mine was installed last year in DECEMBER ( my area is much colder) ………they came back in Spring to do the finial run and check on the AC. AC was usable if needed in Spring………they did the finial temperature and pressure checks, added a few ounces of refrigerant.

Same thing with me. Had a new gas furnace and AC installed late fall. They had to come in spring to finish AC. The problem was I paid the full amount at time of install. So when it came back to charge AC, they didn't do it till summer (and a few 90* days). I WAS PISSED!!! But since they had my money, they weren't in any hurry. DON'T pay in full, till the job is done in full.

have a contract with them that they will return in AC season for a check up and withold some $ if you like.
