Just picked up a complete Band saw today. It is a 16" wood cutting, only thing missing is the original belt guard. I was amazed to also get it with a complete set of Carter blade guards. I would love to hear peoples experiences with these

Great saw, I have a 14". The weak points on the 16 are the table tilt mechanism and the blade tracking mechanism which can be broken.

There is no damage history with the saw. I have torn it down and am in the process of painting it the old WT green-grey. i will polish up at the moving parts and put it back together. i am excited about this tool.

I would not say I got the "You ****" price but it is am upgrade from my Grizzly.

Sweet. Did you get a 'you ****' deal?

What he paid for it is his own business.

I was taught it's impolite to ask what someone paid for something, and this whole "you ****" thing has been run into the ground.

Mine had a broken blade tracking mechanism. I managed to fix it simply with a locking nut type set up. Nice saw. I had mine set up for metal. I didn't have the belt guard either. Looks good!

Says you. "you ****" and "bang his wife" are part of the substance here. It's the lighthearted side of these forums. Every forum and indeed most comedians have a repeat phrase (that they run into the ground) that constantly brings laughs.

Here's another common forum phrase for you: Did someone this morning piss in your Cheerios?

Yep, says me. And I'm not the only one that finds both of those offensive.
Some seem to like playing to the lowest common denominator, not me.

Well, I have changed all the bearings, spend a few days on the wire wheel and have 2 coats of Oil-based Alkyd paint that is an exact match to the original Walker Turner color. I rebuilt the motor and the original paint looks amazing. All the dirty work is over and now I am picking away at the assembly which is the fun part! I will post more pics .

I would love to see a few more examples from the guys here.

Nice bandsaw OP. I've been looking for a vintage one myself, though a bit smaller. Hard to find in my area though.

If you feel you're above that, then fine and just ignore it. I for one, like knowing what people pay for stuff because it gives an insight to what stuff sells in markets other than mine, and sometime reassures me on what I paid for items. And besides, I always think it's awesome seeing what kinds of amazing deals people get sometimes. However, if people aren't comfortable with giving the information, or if they buy to re-sell, I'm good with that also. OP's choice if he wants to gives us the info ;)

I have the motor mounted, the covers on and the top wheel installed. I still need to wire it all up and I am currently milling a new drive shaft.

the old WT Color looks good and I have really enjoyed putting this machine together. things are taking shape. I do need to square a few things up as it goes together. I just got the table in place tonight and I am sure the upper and lower wheel housings will need to be adjusted to make them just right.

I rigged up an old motor shaft and bearing to a dowel and mounted the unit to and through an old piano bench to crown my tires. It worked well. I figure once I am running, I will do a final fairing of the tires in place.

i was there just a week ago LOL

An easy machine to teardown and rebuild, but I have not started the "set up" yet and that will take some fiddling I am sure.

I dont have the OEM guides, wish I did and I am missing the belt guard but have located one!

I look forward to seeing your progress....

I have a recently acquired Walker Turner 14" wood cutting bandsaw. The nut part of the blade tracking adjustment broke into 3 pieces on me yesterday. Do you remember how you solved that problem with the locking nut, and would you be willing to share photos?
