A few weeks ago I saw an add on CL for a Pexto 241C shear. I had never seen a shear like this so I called about it. Turns out the the seller is a guy I know and he's right down the street from me. I look at it and see the table is cracked and had a half *** repair done to it. We strike a deal and it's mine.
Today I finally got the time to go and pick up my new toy (I mean tool). The shear is rated for 12 ga, but as soon as I got it off the truck I had to try and cut some 1/8" steel. Pexto was conservative on their ratings and it cut 1/8' steel with not too much effort. Since most of my work is in aluminum, this thing cuts 1/8" aluminum like it's butter.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the table yet. I may try and do a better weld repair on it or I may just try and make a whole new table for it. I'll just have to use it as is for a little bit before I make up my mind on the table.
