I'm looking to start my new 35 x 70 garage at my new house in early January. It will function as a garage for the house, a shop to work on my cars with a ton of storage up above.

It needs to match a vermont type farmhouse, hence the hardyplank exterior.

Here are the plans. Any suggestions?

THANKS!

I'd suggest at least one high bay door because when they come in handy... they come in HANDY. I don't know what ceiling height you're working with but 14' is deluxe.

Thanks and glad you said something. The door on the end is to be a 10' door. The shop side of this is to be vaulted but will easily be 14' to clear my 2-post lift. I wonder if I can insulate a slide, barn type door and what height on the wall should the air lines be mounted?

The problem with slide doors is not insulating them. That can be done. The problem is getting a weather tight seal when they are closed.

I would run air lines high enough (over windows and doors) that you can get a complete loop. The loop should feed at a high point and there should be a slight "pitch" to a drain leg at the lowest point. Individual drops should run up and then down. The couplers should be about 4' above the floor. Every drop should have a drip leg with a drain valve. There is a drawing depicting all of this floating around here. And there have been some very good threads on air lines here as well. A site search on the subject will overwhelm you.
