New and Installing RaceDeck

I just signed up for this forum (wow - there truly is a forum for everything) after seeing a link on the Meguiars forums.

We recently built a new house and I am stuck with a small, 2 car garage. However, I have decided to spruce it up a bit. I have painted it, installed a chair rail, and am about to start on the flooring. I am going with a light and dark gray RaceDeck. I already have all of the flooring. Has anyone ever installed this before? Any tips? I have read everything that I can find online but was just looking for some personal experience tips.

Any help is appreciated.

I am trying to keep track of my progress (or lack of progress) here:

Looking good so far.

I'm gonna grab some popcorn and sit in the corner...I ordered my graphite Race Deck this week. I'm also in the middle of a garage overhaul, so far so good.

A rummer mallet and a hand saw is all you need. Be sure to leave at least 1/4 inch space at the walls.

Click pick to enlarge. What colors did you get? Good lock.

This is exactly right, except I used my jigsaw. They cut like butter. I'd also recommend some kind of knee pads and, if I had it to do over again, I'd use my wrist braces. Being on my hands and knees for 3 hours played heck with my carpal tunnel. :(

Those garages look great! I love the gray/blue combo.

I went with the light gray and dark gray.

I was planning to use both my portable table saw and a jig saw to cut the stuff. I assume that using a cardboard template for the off shaped pieces, such as around the door rails, is best?

As for the edges, I plan to leave a 1/4" gap on the three walled sides. I am then going to come in and drop an 11/16" molding over to cover the gap. Race Deck's folks said that would be fine as long as the floor can still slide. Did anyone else do this? I want to avoid a gap where dirt and everything will collect.
