New Axe head "Hickory" What is it?

My sons came home for Christmas and the youngest found this axe head in a field. It says "HICKORY", Kelley-How-Thomson Co, Deluth, Minn.
I can not find any info on it on line. Does anyone here know anything about them and The Value of it?

I don't know the monitary value of the tool, but the value to you is the most important thing.

1) your son found it
2) Old U.S. forged item
3) It's old and tempered from weather extremes
4) It has been rescued and found a great new home
