Not the steal of the century but then again, how often do you find a new, sealed up, never plugged in Baldor 8", 3/4 HP grinder on CL? The guy was asking $400 and accepted $350 for it. The cheapest I've seen them online was around the $900 mark for a 8107W model. It was a fair enough price for me.

For those that don't know how big these are, here it is next to a box store 6", 1/3 HP Dewalt....

You didn't need to test it before you sent it to me, but that's nice of you to make sure it works.

You did well. Put a buffing wheel on the crapwalt and you're set.

I mainly use a 1/2 HP craftsman "block" grinder in the "dirty" room (small blast cabinet and grinder room) for grinding. That little Dewalt is used for wire brushing bolts and minor items while working on the lift. The Baldor will get a stand and be put in the blast room with the other. That will allow me to add wire brushes to the block grinder and use the Baldor for grinding.

I plan on picking up a Baldor 1/2 or 3/4 buffer one of these days for buffing duties. I hope that I can pick up a deal like this one on the buffer......

......

What's the weight of that "puppy"?

Shipping weight was 99 pounds according to Baldor. There wasn't much to the crate but giving it the benefit of the doubt, I would say around 85 to 90 pounds. I still miss the one we had at dad's garage before he retired and sold the place and have been hunting a long time for an 8" model in good shape.

At 85 lbs. and given how smooth the Baldors run you wouldn't even need to bolt it down unless you are going to do some aggressive work with it.

I was lucky enough to find two 6 inchers and I could not believe how smooth they are!

Enjoy it!!!

Wish you were closer Jack, he has another new one that doesn't have the plastic eye shields (can be ordered from Baldor) that he would take $325 for.....
