New Barn Installed - First Steps?

Hello All,

My 36 x 50 x 14 Pole Barn will be complete by the end of the week. It will have a 4" rebar and fiber reinforced floor. I have insulated the ceiling but not the walls. I don't currently plan on running utilities but have two floor cut outs installed for a potential 3/4 bath someday. 12' x 12' overhead door on the South and a 10' x 10' on the North with two man doors.

I purchased the barn to store property management equipment but would like to keep the North end clean for a sitting area as it will overlook the pond.

Question: If you were starting with an empty, clean barn, what would you do first? Currently, all of my equipment is jammed in an old barn on the same property so I can take my time. Just looking for ideas so I don't look back and say it's too late now.

No under slab insulation? Even if you're not planning on hvac, a 4' wide perimeter won't break the bank.
Describe property management equipment. Does that include tools, ladders, painting stuff, etc?

No under slab insulation but a vapor barrier will be there.

The barn Is on a 31 acre recreation property ( no house ). My equipment is a mower, tractor, and implements. Standard land management stuff. I have a pond to manage. Moving forward, I hope to make it attractive to my Grandkids So toys will be coming.

Im trying figure out how to carve out an end for lounging ( not living ) Thinking of a wall or hanging a tarp or the like.

You can do a lot with bookshelves or similar. Maybe a potted plant or 2. Assuming you don't want to frame a wall.

Take a look at my build below. You can see how I put in a wall and a mezzanine on the one end. That is my Clean area for the machine shop, and the upper area is my wife's hobby room. That leaves me a 36x36 dirty shop area. Maybe some ideas you could use.

I have a 120 year old barn that's used for similar purposes. The one big addition I want is lights and a 20a circuit to run battery chargers and the occasional power tool.

Sounds like you may need to think about security fist, especially storing tools & equipment. I like the idea of a mezzanine, plus some floor to ceiling shelving since you have some high walls. Then it really depends on what you plan to do in it, good lights, outlets a must, maybe a slop sink. Are you bringing electric in? not sure what you meant by no utilities? Couldn't imagine no electric.

Lighting and outlets would be my starting place
