OK So for the past 4 years my Dewalt 1/2 drill and Sawzall have been using the elephant XLT 18 volt NiCad, batteries. Well it seems as if every battery I own is having to croak on me. So I ordered two from Amazon that are 5 amp hours, but what has me concerned is there weight compared to the old batteries. The weight is about a third of the original batteries. I do have the yellow charger that specifies it is capable to charge Lilith Ion. Is this something to be concerned about? Ken

Are the replacements actually dewalt batteries or are they knockoffs? I might pop open one of the replacements just to see what the guts look like and what kind of cells they used.

Something I feel I should mention. With the NiCad batteries fully charged while on the charger, I would have a steady red light. With the lithium batteries being fully charged I have no indication from the charger. The lithium batteries have a small status indicator and it shows they are fully charged. I will assume that all is well.
