new bench vise... any info?

Yesterday I picked up a new bench vise (my first big one). It is 5 inch Mello No.5. It doesn't say where it's made, but it looks at least 40+ years old, so I would guess it's not China. Any info on the Mello brand? I can't find anything on the internet. It has a covered lead screw and it looks heavy duty...
I put a 30 cm (12 inch) screwdriver next to it for size comparison.

Other than this thread, I couldn't find any other reference on the web for a Mello vise.
