Thank you Ket-tek !! But.... The levington switch is just a 30 amp wall switch. I'm asking about this Start Stop switch mounted on the post shown below.

Oh. I should have read a little more closely. I asked him the same thing in post #31 but have not seen a reply yet.

Hey fella's I've been out of town and haven't checked the forum this past week at all. I forget the brand of the start/stop switch and don't have the model number handy at the moment, but it was not $100-$200 for sure. If I recall it was around $35-$40..

I bought on the net somewhere, it took me a few weeks to find this one, as I found lot's of similar ones but they were only rated 15 or 20 amps. I will see if I can go back in my old emails and find the receipt from when I bought it to get the vendor and model number..

You could also built your own S/S switch box - two relatively light-duty (240V, 1A) momentary pushbuttons and a power relay. If you have a good salvage parts place available, or sift eBay, I'd guess it's a $25 project.

You just want the Start switch small and protected so that only a deliberate effort can engage it (maybe dual buttons?), and the Stop button to be a big honkin' whack-button.

Sure would appreciate it Ket-Tek. I'd like to get one like it cheap.
Thanks

Yeah, that's the one. The ugly flap comes off and the normal red stop button is underneath like in my pics.

Now that you've had a few months with the lift, I have a couple of questions.
1.Does the lift feel solid when you have a vehicle on it, especially using the rolling jack tray? Does it sway a little?

2. Do you feel confident with it for using it as a light duty service lift at home for doing oil changes, tire rotations, brake jobs etc?

3. Same as above with a 3/4 ton Quad cab truck at just under 7000lbs?

4. Did you anchor yours to the floor? If you didn't, does it shift around on the smooth floor when you load/unload a vehicle.

I have a HD-9 & it sways a little when a car is on it. Nothing unsafe or anything but it does move. I bolted mine to the floor after 6 months of use & it's rock solid now. No sway at all. I used drop in anchors instead of wedge anchors just incase I want to move it later.
Car up on the rolling jack is rock solid.

I have the same lift, we installed ours last summer and It is not bolted down. It will move a little but nothing to get afraid over. I've had my 46 Hudson Pro Street coupe on it, my 07 jetta, 99 Jetta, 08 GTI, 99 Dakota 4x4 pickup, 07 Mustang GT, a 2010 Mustang Gt and it's fine.... I'm comfortable it isn't going anywhere.

The lift does sway a little due to the gap between the ladder guide blocks and the steel c-column itself. However, the gap is beneficial as it allows some play which helps prevent/minimize any binding when you raise/lower the lift and the columns aren't perfectly aligned or perpendicular to the floor. The bridge jack is great and with the modification to allow lifting from the middle as well as jack arms it is invaluable for my uses. It is so much easier and faster then trying to use a jack bridge and bottle jacks.

Yes, I feel comfortable using it for home duty light service.

I cannot comment on using it with a pick-up as I never had the need to work on one. However, I'm sure the longer XW length helps when attempting to service a pick-up truck.

After speaking with BendPak and confirming that the lift was designed for use without requiring it to be bolted to the floor I decided not to bolt it down. It will only shift/move on the floor if you drive on/off the ramps to quickly or hit the brakes fast causing the car's momentum and weight to force the lift in a particular direction. If I were to use the lift very often at or near full lift height I would definitely bolt it down to minimize the sway as much as possible and keep the posts aligned.

So far, I am very pleased with the product and support I received from BendPak. If you are thinking of getting a bridge jack take a look at my other thread (link below).

ket-tek: Did you buy your switch from Amazon? I ask because you elude to the fact that your switch is rated for 30amps, yet the one you linked us to on Amazon is only rated for 20amps. Thank you.

Edit: Also, your switch has the 'input' coming into the top of the switch, and the 'output' coming out the bottom. The switch on Amazon has both input and output on the bottom of the switch. Did you customize yours? or is it a different switch?
