Not new, but I have moved my snap on box to my house after I quit my old job at honda dealership. I removed one portion of bottom cabinets and it was exactly 54 1/2" wide which is 1/2" wider than the box. I still have my other box on the other side of the garage.

Probably pretty close, but then it would be a royal PITA to move it.

It looks like it would just about be even, which would look so smooth. Pain to move, but harder to steal, and why would you need to move it? If you know you don't need to move it, wheels off would be slick.

Like it was custom built for your house. Does that furnace or water heater or whatever next to it get hot? A tool warmer?

If that water heater needs to be serviced (or it leaks), I'd want that tool cabinet on wheels! If he really wants a flush worktop all the way across, I'd put the cabinet on a pedestal so the work surfaces are flush. Looks like he'd still have 16-18" of clearance from the upper cabinets, so he could get by without moving them.

Good point. Also, the weight was designed to be distributed to the casters. The way internal framing might channel weight to those reinforced areas. Without the wheels, the weight might not be supported properly.

LOL.

When I first looked at the pic, it looks like a finished kitchen and not a garage (until you notice teh stealth water heater.)

MY mind automatically went to the old:

Him: Honey, I need to bring home my Snap-On box, do you care whare I put it?
Her: No.
Him: OK
After placement:
Her: WTF is this????????? And where is the stove?????
Him: Since the box is worth $4k and holds my uber cool tools, I moved the cooktop and oven out back to make room. Look how well it fits. It's totally rad.
Her: Time to call the divorce attorney.

Outside part of the water heater doesnt get hot at all, it's still about 1/4" away from touching the side of the box.

Actually those are old kitchen cabinets from inside of the house and used them for the garage when I was doing kitchen remodel.
I redid the kitchen with ikea cabinets.

Nice kitchen! I've remodeled a few rooms in my house, and know that doing the kitchen was tough. Nice job.

Yeah I didn't see that you had said they were Ikea earlier. I did my kitchen with them 3 years ago. For the price they can't be beat!
