New Britain machine tool socket set

I picked up this New Britain machine 1/2" drive socket set this weekend. Complete and in super nice condition. Most of the sockets have never been used. I did some research on the internet but there is not near as much info on New Britain machine as there is on Craftsman it seems. I know they closed in 1990. This set looks like 1970's-80's to me Anybody have anymore info?

New Britain was taken over by Litton Industries in 1972. Since the label does not say "Division of Litton Industries" it should be prior to 1972.

Thanks for the info. I live about fifteen minutes from New Britain so the tools are pretty common around here, but seldom in this condition. I am a pawn shop junkie and this is where I found this beauty. I had to pay $50 for it.

New Britain made many of the sockets and ratchets for Husky and NAPA.....good stuff!!
I have two complete Metric and SAE 3/8" drive socket sets at home, alone with NOS 3/8" and 1/2" ratchets.
They are solid tools and well worth the money.
