New Britain ratcheting head thing?

From my dad’s tools, 1/4 “ drive , what appears to be a ratcheting adapter? Why is it so big? What would you put this on , like a 1/4” breaker bar?

Works well with a power handle also; sometimes, not bad with fingers.

Have/Had some of those. They used the same body for all three sizes.

Cool! I guess that makes sense, it seemed awfully large for a 1/4"
