Been reading GJ for years, always lusting over great garages. Well, i am finally going to be building the garage I have dreamed about adding to my house since I bought it.
Currently the garage is 18x22 or so, and I am adding a 30.7x25 ft extension.
I will be installing an in ground scissor lift in the middle bay, a la Paul Bird.
its been a battle with the city, and a few *** hole neihbors but I should receive permits in about 3 weeks. My lift is on it's way form china, and I am working on other details as we speak. I will be stripping the side of the house, doing the drywall and electrical work but I will be leaving the concrete/framing/brick work up to pros. Just dont have the time to spend on it. Plus I have friends in those industries so I get fair pricing.

here is the view from the current entry door of the 18x22. I have some recycled 4 bulb light fixtures in there, the 80 gallon air compressor is above mounted to a car tire for damping. This will be my "work shop" area, fab area etc. Plan to add a mill and a lathe. Already have Mig/Tig/plasma/cutting etc in this area.
The new portion (30.7' wide, 25.5 ft deep) will be where my daily driver stays, and I can have a long term project (or empty space!) and then of course the lift. in the bottom two pics you can see the new space has a vaulted ceiling, 18 and 9ft garage doors, and an entry door to my backyard.
