I would like to start out by saying this is nothing like the massively impressive build you guys over the pond do but i admire your site so much i thought i'd post a few pics on here.

So I have wanted to build a new shed since me and the missus moved into our home just over a year ago. After a lot of umming and ahhhing we came to an agreement on the size and i started digging this week :) the size will be 13 x 11. It is going to be used for storing my bikes and tools mainly but i am putting in a big workbench along the front too :) here are some of the pics i took:-

Foundations sorted, just need to pour them now.

As many people come to this site to check out projects such as yours, as they do to check out the mega-projects, so don't sell yourself short! Good luck with your shed build.

i would have loved to use the dividing wall but it is not my wall to build on and on the otherside of that is a large flower bed so a lot of damp coming through there, thanks for the kind words guys. i will keep you posted as and when i do more work.

Those are the most precisely dug foundation trenches I think I have ever seen. Looks as if you did it with a surgical scalpel! Small sheds are wonderful spaces--I love my 12x12 as much as I love by big garages.

From your first photos I thought you had a tiny yard, and were filling half of it with a shop! Those last few show off the space nicely. That'll be a great space.

its a nice size space, not sure of the actual size of the garden\yard but the shed will be arounf 15m2 which is plenty big enough for what i need it for. thanks for the comments :D

yea 'Bib' but the local council own this land. I wanted to build a 2 car on the grass area behind but they are not sure what they want to use the land for as of yet so i am waiting to hear from them. So I thought why not build a shed for now that way i may end up with 2 :)

Just found this thread and you are looking good !

What are dimensions of the foundation ? How big is your mixer and how many loads did it take to do your foundation ?

Thanks dude, i dont know how big our mixer was as it was an old beat up one from my uncle, but there is 8 tonner of ******** (i would say including the foundations 25+ mixes) in there if that helps, and i felt every wheel barrow full lol. dimentions are 3.6m x 4m

Hope this helps.

I am surprised that more folks around here don't rent a mixer and do it themselves. I know buying bags of Quickrete (cement, gravel and sand pre-mixed) is not cost effective, but I always though you could save a lot by purchasing the ingredients separately.

Yes, it is a lot more work, but your own labor is free, right ?!!

Any updates on your build?

I used to live in Neath so know your area very well. Always good to see another UK member on the forum - especially a Taff ;)

Well the brick work is done :) as soon as i get chance now i will be taking some time off work then starting the roof and fitting the windows.

The floor isnt very level so i was wondering if i should bother leveling or not? IF i do decide to level, what would be the best way?
