Check out my new glass-door hospital cabinet. Got it on C/L awhile back and just hung it up this weekend. It's incredibly well built. US-made I'm sure, but no info on by whom or how long ago. I'd guess 60-70s.

Nice cabinet! I would put a couple red crosses on it and make it a First aid cabinet!

That's a good idea, but hopefully I won't need to have that much first-aid gear! It's pretty big (35 x 30). Shop manuals and car photo albums for now - maybe a couple vintage speed decals...

You know, I can't remember exactly how much I paid. I feel like it was close to $100. I had been looking awhile and was pleased to get it.

Careful with old paint. Although they started outlawing lead paint well before 78, you never know when it was painted. I found out a couple map cabinets that I bought had lead paint, using a HF single use tester (I think Walmart also sells them). I just minimized the amount of sanding before I coated the outside in rustoleum.

I also tested a bunch of my HF tools, since the lead painted kids toys from China were in the news. Luckily, none of the tools I checked had indications of lead paint.

Nice cabinet. I was able to score 42 cabinets both uppers and lowers at a Hospital clearance auction. I'm in the process of cleaning and painting. They are very heavy and have accuride drawer slides and SS hardware. I can't wait to get them installed. OBTW I got all of them for $800, included with the cabinets were 2 fireproof cabinets. I'll post pictures when I get them installed.

And after that, put some blood red in a splatter pattern across it. When folks ask about it, tell 'em the most bizarre stuff you can think of...
