Hey guys, how's it going?

Just landed my first real C technician position within a Ford dealership on Long Island New York. Spent about 2 years in a private job as a lube and tire tech.

Newly married, 27 and finally getting my career off to a good solid start. Was looking around for some decent technician forums and figured I would join up on here.

Despite the old hearsay from some older techs out there, I believe this new generation will face a serious shortage of solid minded technicians looking to learn the right way and do the right thing. Too many parts changers out there in the industry these days. I'm confident moving forward!

Welcome to GJ, and good luck with the new job. Learn the correct way to diagnose and please don't ever be a parts replacer. Also find a boss that listens to the experienced tech instead of the smooth tongued parts replacer that will baffle everyone with bull$h;t. That's a problem that I see to often is the bosses listen to the smooth bullsshit. Anyway good luck.

I spent 33 years at a local Ford dealership here in Canada. Then was rehired to help build a new building then left again. Rehired to help them get out from under a rock. So 38 years all together.

There is an internal forum where you can quiz other techs from across the country and also a tech helpline online direct to Ford.

Good luck.
