Some updates:

Roll up's went in this week. As it is only a working area, no need for permanent walls, also the climate is so nice...

Got some new tools this week, Plasma cutter & a nice lil tool cart to move things on.

Started to get me tools sorted as well :)

The sockets are Ampro, saved my bacon on a few occasions. See it's size, also some more Gedore sockets 1/2" metric. KD stud removers in SAE and Metric in the KD box.

Nice, please post some pics of the Beta trolley when you get it. Where did you buy it? The Tool Shop in Randburg?

Nice set-up and nice cart. That workbench looks great. You could even use it as a lift if you could figure out how to get a car up on it :)

Thanx guys for all the compliments. The top will consist of 16mm ply with 3mm (1/8") stainless top in one part and the other half will be 3mm mild steel with the ply on top.

A section in the middle will have the pan folder, shear & roll (triple machine) sunk into the bench with it's table level to the surface.

Wow - sure would like to be able to roll my walls up and down!!!! What about security? What is the tank tool cart actually designed for - with the foldout section it looks like it's designed for something specific....

The Tank trolley is not a tool storage cart, it's more for taking tools and parts to the car. I am using it for bodywork tools and carting my Plasma cutter to the vehicles.

Security is not really needed, noting of much value is store in this space. The car being worked on will be in here, but the property is walled with lockable gates. Behind the 3 doors in the wall is where all the things are stored. The tool carts, welders, parts, lathe etc. are wheeled in there and locked away.

With our wheather, we need wind protection during winter and lots of ventilation during the hot summers, the temps reach 35 Celsius regularly and sometimes 45 Celsius, then time for

Thanx to ya all :) some updates: Tools now mostly sorted, used Ernst stuff. The clock is up, and so is the refrigerator converted to a Biltong dryer. No not Jerky but Biltong. Not remotely the same thing :) see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biltong

Hi sarel, your setup is looking very nice! I'm also planning my layout and building my tool inventory. Will go and scout the pawnshops this afternoon.

Hi!

I'm also a very satisfied user of a beta Tank25 (mine is already 10 years old and looks a bit more battled). I only notice in picture 5 that you double flipped open the lid. It is not meant to be used that way as it is side heavy then at one side and not stable and safe.
As far as I know (and also shown on the Beta site that way) you should fold the lid as shown on the picture below (from a Beta site):

Ok, I was just concerned about your safety.
The one in the picture is not mine. I will introduce myself, my garage and my c25 tank later this weekend in the introduction topic.

Chers,

Thom
