My buddy has a channellock set just like that. The ratchets are junk, wrenches are junk, and screwdriver *****. Its a disgrace, i hate using his tools! Buy craftsman instead if you are looking that this price point. Those channellock kits are all China anyways.

I don't see nothing saying anything there is USA made. The only I found marked USA was the old school style ratcheting wrenches. They have had these kits for a while and they were always rebadge imports.

They are made in Taiwan I believe. That was the COO on their last set. It is simular to the dewalt offering in quality.

Those are old. I reviewed them on TG nearly 3 years ago (http://toolguyd.com/channellock-4-in-1-combo-ratcheting-wrenches-reviewed/)

They're decent, but I'm not a fan of that wrench style if others are available.

As for the mechanics tools, Channellock had similar products available before via Costco and other distributors. Don't expect true "pro" quality.

Their decision to ***** their name out on products that don't meet the company's quality standards or COO doesn't make sense to me. It's getting to the point where their "fiercely made in Meadville, PA" is getting quite misleading.

The only tools made in Meadvilles are the pliers and cutters. Everything else is made somewhere else. Their adjustable wrenches and screwdrivers. Been like that for years now. Nothing new.

Four years ago I had similar concerns about Channellock's "new" screwdrivers. Their media contact emailed me the following:

...You are correct that the Sam's Club screwdriver line and our new Code Blue screwdrivers and nutdrivers are very similar.

...However, the quality of the Sam's Club line caused us to re-evaluate the Code Blue screwdriver and nutdriver line that we carried prior to this year. We ultimately decided to switch the suppliers for that line to the one that manufactured the Sam's Club line. Changes were made before they were re-launched to ensure that they fit with our standards for quality and the Code Blue line.

Unless things have drastically changed since then, and I don't think they have, these tools won't quite be the same as the wholesale club versions. If they are, then shame on Channellock.
