I found The Garage Journal via a search for information on my Dad's '95 Buick LeSabre 3.8l leaky upper intake manifold. Seems to be a great place for information too! Thanks to all who post here.
It now appears that the upper manifold should be replaced as my Dad "cooked" this engine a bit one day transporting my Mom to a Dr.'s appointment when the serpentine belt decided it didn't want to hang around anymore. He eventually blew the water pump bypass hose and that is when it really got cooked. I thought it strange that the AAA shop where Dad had the car towed didn't find the blown hose when they replaced the serpentine belt. Such is life I guess.
Glad to be here and I am sure I'll be posting some in the future.
