I heard about this site from a couple fellow motorheads on ForABodiesOnly.com.

My powder coating shop's south wall and roof were wiped out by a bigggg oak tree in April. Repairs are now underway and the new roof is on (woo hooo!), but I'm here to surf pointers and ideas on some other upgrades.

I love what I've seen of the forums so far and am looking forward to getting to know you all. Thanks for having me!!

Welcome to GJ. We'd love to see pictures of the shop.

Your web site does not load, at least not right now on my browser.

Thank you for the warm welcome! It's great to be here.

I started a thread in the Free Parking forum to show off the Cuda a little bit. Here's a few pics of my shop both before and after Mother Nature decided to throw a tornado at me.

It's an Arco Building Systems' 30x40 steel building ... half of it is my powder coating shop and the other half is my fiancee Billy's where he does restoration work and plays with his projects.

When we moved in ...

Here's the inside before the April 20 storm ...

Here it is with its new foliage (now removed yayyyy) ...

And with the repairs done so far (excuse my lack of fashion sense -- I was taking a break from the roof replacement LOL) ...

Plans for the immediate future include epoxy coating the floor, foil insulation and some kind of waterproof covering for the walls at least on my side (I have to wash it out all the time with the powder work I do), and a short-chick-sized custom work station that will replace my 8x4 plywood work table and all those cheesy crappy wire/steel shelves on the back wall. I've got my eye on those steel cabinets like Saber makes [drool all over the keyboard now] but they're wayyyyy out of the budget.

I'm anxious to hear any ideas for improvement! Thanks in advance guys.

Welcome to GJ, Leanna. Love the website. Those samples are outstanding! Now just need to find something to powder coat...

I think the biggest challenge in any shop is organization and keeping each area of work separate. GJ members have many solutions for storage ideas, work benches, tools, vices, lifts... But we can only give ideas. You've been running PCS long enough to have a system that work, a flow and process from receiving an item through completion. Our ideas may just help you make that organization flow a little easier.

Thanks for checking out my work gang ... just love what I do around here and haven't actually worked a single day since going pro a few years back.

Lots of FB friend requests coming through the last couple of days so I suspect quite a few are from GJ. It's an honor to accept them. I opened a separate album about the shop damage and repairs here on the PSC Fan Page if ya'll care to see. (It's got over 450 fans now so feel free to add yourself if you're inclined.) I'll supplement the photo album as work and upgrades continue.

I've been doing a lot of surfing around here checking out everybody's work myself ... the ideas are overwhelming and the level of talent is unsurpassed. I wish I'd found this site a few months ago! Thanks to all for doing what you do. :D

Sorry about the old thread revival, but I forgot to update this as time went on. Here's a link to my album on the shop's FaceBook Fan Page detailing all the repairs following the tornado.

GJ members had a LOT to do with how things eventually turned out. Thank you all!!! I couldn't have gotten back on my feet so quickly and professionally without you. :)
