Finally moved into a larger house with a much larger garage. Its a disaster right now, as we had to move in pretty fast, but it will be nice eventually, hopefully before winter, as i have some mods i want to do to my bike before spring.
I've posted some things about my old garage on here before
i guess this is the most recent pic of my old garage, complete with a frame in the way

durring the week i want to at least get the lathe in place, maybe a few shelves on the one wall thats painted so far. Hopefully pick up a shed this weekend as well to clear some of the stuff out of there, bikes, lawnmower, yard tools,.. that stuff doesnt belong in a garage.

Plans so far are.
Finish drywall on the walls and paint (other side wall the same grey and probably a bright green back wall)

Run electric EVERYWHERE, including 220 for the lathe, compressor, and powder coat oven

workbenches/shelving

gonna build a huge bar/ table to sort of divide the 2 car and 1 car sections. thinking 3-4' x 12, with the dog kennel built in underneath and room to roll the bike lift under the other side

gonna do the sink dropped into a workbench near the door.

have a full size furnace that needs to be hooked up with gas and power (indiana gets cold)

the cable guy came already and got my own box for the garage, no more splitting off the bedroom tv

lighting and some ceiling fans

thats it for now, gonna be updating here as i go. thanks for looking

Not much done. Just shuffled some stuff around. Gonna have to have someone help get the rest of the lathe put together.

Called the gas company today, they will be coming out to put in a larger meter to run the furnace. Pretty lucky that the gas meter is directly behind the wall where the furnace will be.

Hopefully this Saturday I'll get some electric ran. And if all goes well and I can get a hand, start drywall Sunday.

Alright. Question on wiring. Since the walls are already insulated, would it be better to drill through the studs to run wire between the new outlets or is it necessary to run the wire up through the attic and back down? I live in Indiana, so code allows for just romex. I will have conduit drops for the 220 for the lathe and compressor on the finished wall.

Got the lathe put together, 110 and 220 outlets on the finished wall. Boxes and wire pulled for all the outlets (110 and 2 more 220 on the back wall. Can't see very well but will have an outlet every other stud.

Drywall up. Still not sure about colors. Originally wanted to do the other sidewall the same grey, and then a bright green on the back wall, but I have absolutely nothing else that is green. Maybe red?? Maybe just do all the walls the same grey? Opinions welcome. Pretty busy all weekend but hopefully be able to sand and paint next week and start getting some benches and shelving in

Pick yourself up some of the childproof outlet plugs. Running a lathe, you stand a chance of shavings going into the outlet behind the lathe.

Painted last night. Wire up all the outlets and breaker box tonight and start getting everything in place and building workbenches.

Looks like your keeping the color scheme of your old garage.
I always though that looked good. One of the better one car garages on the forum.

Nice work on both!

Cabinets showed up today. Picked these ones because they were on sale ( plus free shipping, plus 10% off coupon from sears). Though I would just paint em since the description was "starfire white". Turned out they're a sort of flake paint, and really awesome quality.

Also got the vices mounted up and some outlets ran across the front of the bench. Had to add another 220 under the cabinets since I moved the oven over there too

Thanks.
Well were planning on having a housewarming party on the 17th so I have quite a bit to get done before then. Hoping to get some lights up this weekend. Plan on dropping the single bulbs down, adding a 4x4 box and running over with some conduit to 3 flouresent fixtures. I'll add more in the future but that should be good for the winter. Gonna add a single bulb under the shelf over the lathe as well. And next spring or summer the single bulbs will be replaced with ceiling fans.

Also have to get a bar made that is going to divide the 2 and 1 car ports. Thinking its going to be about 3.5' wide and 12' deep. Going to finish the top off with some sort of granite or stone tiles, and the dig kennel will be inside of it as it was in the last garage.

Got some lights up. Found em on sale at menards for $14 down from $29 plus the 11% mail in rebate they have right now. Gonna buy one more tomorrow. Got 6500k t8 bulbs and gotta change out the single bulbes to match as well. Might see about getting one fan for the center just to circulate the heat for now.

Furnace is kicking ***. Was 41 today, got the garage to 65 in a few min and the insulation held very well. Only kicked back one two or three times over 4 hours.

Awesome workspace/hangout. I couldn't help but notice the pinstriping and striper's box. You do your own striping? If so then looks like great work. I just started striping about 6 months ago and am slowly making progress. Anyways that's that, again sweet space man.

Yea. I used to a lot just as a hobby, but haven't touched a brush in over a year. Hope to get back at it soon. Paints all probably dried up by now.
