"New Comment" notification?

Most of the other forums that I'm on will send you a notification (usually by your username), telling you that somebody commented on a thread you are following.

When you post, you are automatically "following" that thread.

Is there an option to do this here? Am I just looking in the wrong place?

Yes in the user CP at the top left. Look through the options. You can get immediate notification or daily. Any existing subscriptions won't change. They have to be done manually

That's just for email notifications, right? Not notifications that pop up on the forum when you're on it?

Ah, no, I'm not aware of that. I just look at my subscription list in the user CP
