Hello folks,

I'd like to run a new air line for my compressor and have 2 drops to connect my hose to.

Here's a quick sketch I did on paint

I'd like to run a copper line which is the easiest to get locally. What size do I need, 1/2", 3/4"? My compressor is 60G.

Also where else would I need to connect my hose to ? I'm under the impression HF used to carry some sort of square connector but couldn't find it on their website.

Thanks

A lot of people will say you need 3/4" pipe, but I think you would be fine with 1/2". I plan to loop my shop with 1/2" stainless steel tubing and bring the drops down where needed.

I opted to pipe with 1/2" Galv (threaded).

No problems with contaminents, flow or

pressure at end runs. I also plug in 100'

of 3/8" hose with 1/4" fittings to get to

street and patio from garage outlet. No

problems with blah, blah, blah...

IOW, 1/2" inch soldered copper will be no

problem. When you build an outlet, make

a valved drop below the outlet to serve as

as a trap, like on a natural gas line so you

can "blow off" moisture that may accumulate.

I ran all 1/2 iron here. No pressure or volume problems, even at the blast cabinet at the far end of a 28' run.

I would put a drop up next to the garage door. One inside and one poked through the wall to the outside. I use the heck out of that outside one for airing up tires. My main line is black iron 3/4" with 1/2" drops, but I knew the 3/4" was overkill.

Don't forget the flex line/hose from tank to shop hard pipe to prevent any problems with vibration.
