Well my old compressor motor just burned up and I am wanting to up grade from a 60gal to 80gal. Sure a new motor will be cheaper but more air and pressure mo-better. So whats out there that's worth it Quincy? Ingersoll? I need power to spin a 3/4" impact and a pressure pot blaster. Thanks for the help. I'd like to stay around $2500.00 as far as budget goes.

I'd recommend a champion vr5-8 for your budget. It probably won't keep up that great with a sandblaster, but don't think anything under 10 hp will (you're talking big money and requires 3 phase power). If you're interested in used equipment, an older quincy qr series is excellent. You'd probably want a 325 or 340, but those way out of your budget brand new.

I second the Champion. I was about to pull the trigger on a vrv5-8 econ (only $2,000 currently) after 6 months of researching and shopping but ended up finding a like- new Belaire (sold under the Harbor freight name) for stupid cheap.

For your budget, you could pick up the 7.5 hp VRV7F-8 with a little room to spare. That'll make 23.9 cfm. Of course you're right on the bubble of finding a pressure lube model but that's always how it goes.

I would look at Belaire (American IMC) - you can't beat their bang for the buck. Going true USA-made industrial you are easily looking at $5-6K new, or get a used unit - hundreds of compressor threads on this site to read on this topic.

Also, run fast and far away from IR consumer/prosumer grade units. I have seen some at my local tractor supply and they are cheaply built, maybe even cheaper than horrible fright

I would look at Champion or Saylor Beall.
Champion has a pretty big dealer network too, and a local dealer can deliver.
If you buy through a dealer who serves auto repair shops, you can usually get a better discount than industrial dealers.
auto repair shops = looking for a bargain
industrial customers = needed it yesterday
