New concrete for epoxy floors

I'm in process of building a new home. I'm contemplating an epoxy floor for it.

From all I've read, it sounds like prepping the concrete is one of the more difficult and touchy parts of the process and the part that makes it unattractive for me on a DIY basis.

It seems that it doesn't make a lot of sense to pour a new floor that then requires etching or grinding to provide a surface that the epoxy will grip.

Can I instruct my builder to do something in the pour/troweling process that will produce an "epoxy-ready" floor? Or is there no avoiding the etch/grind process?

You could instruct your builder to add Vapor Lock 20/20 or 20/21 into the concrete to stop any water problems with your concrete. We just glued down carpeting on a new concrete floor in a building in 17 days. Too many times epoxy floors go down on new concrete way before the slab is done giving up the extra 17 gallons of free water. Good luck.
