New concrete...oil spot question

Hi all,

My shop is new and the concrete mono slab is about 2 months old.
I'm planning to put epoxy flooring down but am waiting till it is warmer out.
I've been real careful to not get stains/oil on the floor so far however someone did drive into the garage about 2 weeks ago and some oil dripped from their truck. I wiped it up right away but there is still a slight mark.

Should I scrub it with Simple Green or similar and be done with it or will I have to do more prior to having the epoxy done?

Thx

Got the PM it will be there Thursday. Let me know how it works. Start with this first then use degreasers as needed. But usually on fresh stains this works wonders.

I have had good luck with DriveUp or Greased Lightening, straight. Pour it on, scrub it in, let sit over night. Rinse with a garden hose. Let dry. You might need to repeat this after it has dried.

Over here....
Pour N Restore has my vote. Ace Hardware has it.

Good luck and keep us posted how well the stuff GFLLC works out. Maybe some photos?

I had a big spot where a leaky hydraulic jack sat for several months. I hit it with acetone starting a few weeks before the epoxy application and repeated it daily as the oil migrated back to the surface. Took about six days, but it all was pulled to the surface. That was a few years ago and the epoxy is still in great shape in that area.

I used Pour N Restore that Justin sent me. Thanks!
Worked well. I forgot to take a b4 pic but here is an after. There were 3 quarter size spots in the center of this pic.
I had some antifreeze sit on the floor from a leaking water pump. It has dried now but left a dark spot. Should I be concerned about cleaning that?

You definitely want the floor clean. I would wait until you grind for the epoxy and see where that leaves you. As well as that oil stain came up, I am hoping the antifreeze is sitting within the layer you are going to remove. My concern, and granted I have probably thought through this to much, is if it did dry surface level and you go crazy cleaning it now, the water may actually carry it deeper into the concrete.
