just had my garage slab poured and won't have my building for atleast 2 more weeks, so i figure this would be the perfect time to go ahead and have it sealed.

I know epoxy is the favorite, and i do love the look, but this shop will be for fabrication and general automotive work. I know the epoxy can't take the heat of grinding and welding, so i want to stay away from that option and just seal the concrete so it makes for easy cleanup and stop the oils and such from staining and soaking into the brand new concrete

what brands can anyone recommend? any flaws against using any of the brands sold at Lowes or Home Depot? let me know so i can get this down and sealed, ready for my building in about 2 weeks

Sealer - one of the hd6600-mma sealers have worked pretty well on on my outside concrete "porch" areas that are heavily UV exposed. It's held up great, but can be a little slick.

For fab and general automotive - do consider polyurea, which is less expensive than epoxy but really does great at providing protection from the things that auto shops tend to get on the floor.... You can get it in solid colors or even make it look fancy by doing clear polyurea over stain. You'd need to ask Legacy about how it handles slag - I do have a few weld burns here and there, but I'm also burning the concrete.
