Had time to kill at the Costco today, and saw the following. Yes, it's all foreign. Yes it all ***** compared to SO. Yes, none is for professional use. So, now that we've got that out of the way, us weekend warriors can see what's cool and/or new for our garages...

$16 wrench set. SAE + Metric. Standard + stubby. What's funny is that this was right beside the $14 bone wrench. I'd certainly buy these before a bone wrench. Made in India. Lifetime warranty on defects and workmanship - but not for breakage. :)

They've had this Crescent set for a while. Honestly, for $99 it's pretty inclusive. Made in Taiwan.

Big $550 roller chest. Looked OK, but I'm not keen on all stainless. Didn't check CoO.

I know we've discussed these Toren boxes before. I like the black crinkle finish. Not enough drawers though. Didn't check CoO.

And my favorite...this nifty Stanley 13 drawer top and bottom for $299. I thought it was made pretty well for the price, and was a good value. I may have to bring one home. I like the black with the stainless drawer fronts. Comes with liners and casters.

There is one problem with the Cresent set, leave out 15mm and 18mm.Seen this with a Cresent set at Sams Club this way.Take a magnet with you and there is a reason why to do this. Most Stainless steel toolboxes are made out of the cheap stainless steel which the magnet sticks to.A magnet will not stick to the good stainless steel.

Notice on the Stanley box the slides are just riveted to the drawers and on the better imports like the HF boxes there is a cutout in the side of the drawer where the slide comes into the drawer and helps support the weight. Probably one of the other boxes in the photos is made that way. Consider that the entire weight of your tools is support by a couple of pop rivets.

I wonder how those wrenches compare to HF full polish. I was going to buy the HF ones for secondary use/location. My Costco had several of the 72" boxes a couple a weeks ago; they disapeared fast.

Makita has also whored themselves to China/Costco. Saw their 18V driver kit on the shelves. So sad... felt pretty solid, but just seeing that China on the label made me a little less happy. :(

That box and most other stainless boxes are made of 430 stainless. A magnet will stick to the lesser grade 400 series stainless. If the boxes were made of 300 series they'd be more expensive than the SO boxes.

Shoot that SS looks like a deal, could use more drawers, but definitely worth checking out.

That combo wrench set looks awful similar to this one on amazon: Maxtech

We've only got a Sam's Club here. I wish they would carry that parts bin/rack. I like how the bins are mixed sizes.

I like that roller chest. Looks like a decent work surface on the top. For $550, it's not a bad deal at all. Too bad I bought the 45" HF roller already for $300.

Interesting note. I bought the wire rack you show here for $139.**. So far I think that it is a good unit. If you buy 2 then you can make a 3 unit length shelf with 3 shelves on each unit.

Storage bins and rack!

I bought a prior version of this from Costco. The only difference is mine has two storage bins on the lower shelves where this has one deeper set of bins. Ultimately I regretted the open nature of this bin organizer because it let too much dirt and rat poop get into whatever i was storing in it.

So...I modified it by enclosing it. If I hadn't done this I'd have given it away.
