I bought the set about 5 weeks ago. I like it. Replaced a 26" Craftsman 12-drawer bottom/12 drawer top set I had for 40+ years.

Had an issue when I unpacked it and had to flip it upside down to unlock. The bluetooth lock doesn't do anything for me. I actually think it's a bit gimmicky, at least for home use.

I bought it for the quality and drawer layout. Looked at Kobalt, Husky, HF. This seems head & shoulders beyond those. Now that we have it, my wife notices the other models and tries out the drawers. She is shocked at the difference in quality.

It is tall. I needed a hook on a stick to grab that latch to pull the lid down. My wife bought one of those aerobic step-up gadgets to stand on so she (and, to some extent, me too) can see in the top more easily. It tucks under the cabinet nicely.

I was reluctant to spend the money but my wife said "Just go ahead... you've been talking about a new toolbox for over 30 years". How can you argue with that? Just one of the many reasons we've been married for 36 years.

The edge series to me looks like an upgraded version of the former grip latch boxes. I don't know that line of boxes is bashed here so bad as I never saw anything wrong with them quality wise.

the edge series are identical to the older griplatch/ball bearing models that were a step below their professional boxes. I have an older griplatch/ball bearing model from the ~2001 and they are identical as far as I can tell. I don't get why they are bashed here either. I think most people test the really crappy homeowner type boxes with friction slides at the store (which truly are terrible) and assume everything else is the same. GJ is getting to the point where I come here to see what is recommended and then go the opposite way.

Old thread, but were these griplatch shown really around $1,400 New, when not on sale?
buddy that had one said he paid about $1,000 for his. :dunno:
i think they are discontinued today.
Tool Gyde, Dec 09, said they were on sale for about $700.00, At half off, So making them about $1,400.00 New. :scared:

Mine was $1150 with the intermediate drawer on a big father's day sale. That was about 2003
