New Craftsman rachets

Had my first look at the new thin profile, no pusbutton expensive Craftsman ratchets. One local store had them. They are nice ratchets. I really like the was the handle feels in my hand. The fine tooth mechanism works fine, not quite as smooth as some bult will probably wear smooth. The 84 tooth gear did not feel that much different from the 60 tooth in the thin profile pushbutton release that has been around a while. The handle on the 1/2 drive is a little longer that the other ratchets. The polish job is not quite up to Snap on or Mac standards but that dosen't bother me since the tool will get dinged in use. I doubt if I can talke myself into getting more ratchets.

Oh, like it was mentioned on another post, it's oily around the selector lever. Don't see that as a problem, at least it indicates it's lubricated well.

I have the 1/4" and 3/8" and so far they have been perfect. The handles feel good and the slightly longer than average length is a nice feature, the heads are thin, the action is fine and the chrome is good. I have 0 complaints with these and hope Craftsman continues to expand the line, unlike the thin pro series that stopped at the 3 basic ratchets.

Yep I like mine too. I can't think of a bad thing to say about them. If they start making more of these, I will be buying those too. Hopefully Sears listens this time around.

Where the tall corn grows!
Thanks for the links, those are really nice looking ratchets. If they ever come out with soft grip or flex heads, I'm getting some!!!

Yea, alot of people think the same...Flex, soft, shorty. Hopefully they do expand the line.

I checked em out on sunday (store finally got a few in)... I really like the handle, and will probably pick one up in a few weeks.
