I know most people on here want to hate on Craftsman and yes they aren't what they used to be, but that being said I couldn't say no to a clearances top box online. It's a ball bearing Griplatch that is a perfect match to my bottom box and it only cost $98. I talked the guy at Sears into free shipping too!

It's something I have been wanting for a long time and now I can get better organized. I just have to move the cabinets above so I can actually use the lid area!

The "Limited Edition" sticker has got to go.

i saw those. why are they running $100 less than standard griplatch units? is there some functional difference in the "limited edition"? if it were black i probably would have pulled the trigger on it.

I bought that one awhile back too. I am not sure what the limited ed is. I thought maybe just that it's red with red drawers vs red with black drawers like most other stuff?

I got that and a griplatch ball bearing chest for about $300. Probably holds less than a 44 inch HF, but it cost a little less and leaves me more floor space.

I don't know why they are so cheap. The only difference I can see between this and the 5 drawer BB Griplatch they had in the store is the "store" model had little shocks to support the top and this just has a locking hinge. That doesn't matter to me at all. It's also the most shallow of the top boxes with only 10" deep drawers which is fine by me. The only thing I didn't like is the lock "straps" that attach to the lid hinge. If the top is open all the way then you can't open the drawers. I promptly fixed that by popping out the hinge pins; removing the bars and reinserting the pins. Problem solved.

Other than that the drawers open smooth; the latches work well and it free'd up a lot of space in my bottom cab for stuff that has been kicking around for a while.
