Wish the UK craigslist was as useful as the US site.... at least we all have a place to go for illegal tickets and casual encounters! haha... that's pretty much it :(

Yep, I wasted a whole day and a 585 mile roundtrip to Silt Colorado to buy a '90 mustang 7up convertible. Pics were great and car looked clean and taken care of...they must have been 5 to 10 years old though as the car looked like hobos and dogs had slept in it for at least a year. I was more disappointed than angry and drove back home. Scenery was nice though...quite a contrast between Red Mountain pass with 6' of snow versus fruit trees in bloom around Grand Junction and Delta, CO.

Picked up a brake controller and harness for my F150...

Used the car trailler a couple times last week, and didn't remember that I hadn't installed a brake controller in the new truck until I got there. Luckily they were both small, light cars.

If Facebook counts then I scored a Briggs+Stratton pressure washer for 40 bucks while collecting a free oil drum for a burn barrel. Had been laying on its side for years and smoked like crazy due to all the oil in the cylinder but ran like a champ after the oil burned off.

High pressure output fitting was broken off in the hose fitting but it came with a brand new hose. Ordered a new fitting off Amazon for 15 bucks and bought a Wera screwdriver and some washers to get free shipping!

Wish they could make this out of something other than fragile aluminum......

I had the exact same one and it cracked too. Might be a job for the lathe and some better material.

New scores for this week. Man, I hate that others have to suffer and sell cool stuff so cheap, but I like being there to help them out :bounce:

Ok, I'll try and timeline last weekends sales and purchases. Pic #1 is the brand new MOOG Chassis parts cabinet I scored locally on CL for $50. He was asking $65 and reluctantly agreed on $50 since he was getting slammed with calls all morning. Someone actually called his cell when I was loading it into my Jeep Cherokee. The second pic is the '94 Cherokee I sold via CL (yes the same one used to pick up the cabinet:bounce:). I owned it for two years and it drove great from the day I bought it as well as the day I sold it. I actually made $100 more then when I bought it. I also hit a pretty good town wide yard sale that was posted on CL, but I'll stick with the CL listed items only.

The last pic is the Airco Dip-Pak I picked up on Sunday. It was a 2 hour ride to get, but it's in really good shape. The guy was the original owner and only used it for bodywork and light frame work. He did really nice restoration work and said he never had it on any setting but low. Here's a pic of my first weld on medium.

CL is where I buy 80% of my tools/parts/autos etc. Ebay is where I sell the items I score at a great price and do not need.

Sunday morning I took pictures of a 1973 Honda SL125 I bought to restore but was in such bad shape I lost interest. Posted it at 10 AM and it was gone before 1 PM $150.00. Also had a Honda HT3813 riding mower I bought for parts and posted it for free, it had no engine or mowing deck, at 3 pm a guy came and got it.

Try searchtempest.com. It lets you do a broad search where you can select the distance (mileage) from your zip and what it is you are looking for.

I picked up these clamps yesterday on the way home from a client site. You can never have too many clamps and these are pretty nice Pony brand except for a couple of Craftsman edge clamps that are amazingly nice as well. $30 for all the clamps and that is a deal in my humble opinion seeing as how they charge an arm and a leg for clamps these days. On Saturday my buddie and I are going back to a guy's house that I bought my jointer from. He had an old pattern makers lathe that my buddie fell in love with and he stole it for $450 this lathe is easily worth over $1,000. I will post a few pics when we get it. The guy also has a nice Rockwell belt sander but I don't think I could get it for real cheap as those things go for some serious ching. But he also has a nice stash of hardwood that we are going to haggle over as he still has not given us a price yet for all of it but there is some beautiful wood in his pile that i really want.

I bought a $260 trailer tonight. Not much to look at, but it's solid. I wanted it to haul my 3-wheeler on the highway and yet be small enough to tow behind it for work around the house and gardening. It does have "genuine" Model T fenders on it.

I saw this on S F Bay Area Craigslist on Friday morning 1/24/2014 so I sent the guy a email even though it had been on for 5 days already so low and behold I get a phone call around 2:49 pm and he says if I want it come and get it so I drove 80 miles round trip at 25 miles to a gallon at $3.49 not bad for a buck and it works and has also had some mods done to it plus 4 extra blades and not the cheap HF ones. Check the stand reinforced with rebar and the blade adjustment holders and the tray to catch shavings . Here's some pictures and a movie of it cutting with just a quick adjustment to keep blade from walking off .

I saw this ad on CL Saturday morning while I was having my coffee .
Milling Machine (redwood city) 3/01/2013
A UNITED Machine Tools Company milling machine. These are made in the USA and were very good quality. This one is pretty old and we just don't have room for it anymore. It was undergoing a rebuild so it is partially dissembled. It needs new bearings, and it is missing one piece. Email if interested.
It turned out to be a Clausing 8520 with MT2 collets and original 3/4 hp 3 phase motor
So I emailed not expecting an answer back since it was posted Friday
next thing I know he call I ask what are you looking to get for it and he said he figured it was worth $50.00 in scrap I told him to delete the ad I'll take it . I gave him a 50 and they loaded it with a forklift
for me it needs bearings and the X axis gib .
I plan to clean it up and use it for 50 bucks !!!!

I got this in June of 2012
42" Golk Knee Mill w/ 2-axis DRO - $250 (San Jose West)

This machine is large and very heavy. If you are serious about taking
it you will at the very least need a pickup truck (that you don't mind
scraping up) and some strong friends. I would recommend a truck with a
lift gate to make your life easier.

This mill was made in San Francisco, which should tell you something
about its age. It has been owned and retrofitted by many craftsman. It
has a motorized feed on the 42 inch table, a two axis Bridgeport
digital readout, a 1HP back EMF speed controlled DC motor and an RPM
spindle speed meter. The RPM meter is accurate even at very low speeds
and was my addition to this fine machine. As you can see in the
pictures below the mill is disassembled (it's the only way it can be
moved). I will also throw in the hefty machinists vice shown.

And I wound up getting it for 200
