Hang it above the ceiling.

That is what I am thinking. That side of my garage will have 10' ceiling and the half bath will be framed out to 8' so I am thinking of putting it on top (with an appropriate drain pan routed outside)

Similar result when I did this on my house and attached garage last year. Loads included 60 mBh of AC (2x2.5 ton units), dryer, oven, 7.5 hp compressor, all lights, fridge, etc. Only major load not running was my welder and the lot was pulling about 60A on a 150A service.

Is the compressor motor a true 7.5HP?

A 7.5HP motor has an FLC of 40a and an FLA in the 32-37a range.

With all that you had running im guessing the load would be higher with a true 7.5HP compressor.

It is a true 7.5 hp 215T frame TEFC motor, but only pulls about 28A as applied. The compressor it is on is a large 5 hp (about 21 cfm as measured at 150 psi) and this motor was on it when I got it a couple of years ago. The compressor is a 1958 vintage Kellogg, but the motor looks like 1980s vintage. I suspect they applied a larger motor because a contemporary 80s 5 hp wouldn't quite get the job done when it was replaced.

I should also add my service is about 250V, so some loads including the compressor (but the oven and dryer obviously excepted) are pulling proportionally lower current.
