New Dual Head Minisplit System - Question About Running Efficiently

I just had a new Bryant minisplit system installed. The main unit (38MARB) is downstairs and a second head (DHMAHB) is upstairs, but it is an open loft area upstairs. The total square footage is about 800 with slightly more upstairs.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to run them so that they're well balanced and don't fight each other. Right now I'm running Auto mode on both with the downstairs unit set 2 degrees lower (they're currently cooling) and one unit will turn off rather than doing the opposite of the other (fortunately, I'm glad these are somewhat idiot-proof!). I was hoping someone with more experience would be able to tell me if this will work or if there's a better way since this system was purchased to reduce our power bills.

They're efficient enough so you can pretty much set and forget. As soon as you've tweaked it enough to think it's perfect, conditions will change. Cloudy or different overnight lows will catch up with your perfect balance. 👍

Set the units to the desired room temperature and forget about them. There's no need to overthink it.

Most newer units are really efficient.

Mini split equals set and forget. The technology involved allows the indoor unit to run and at the same time will modulate the outside unit and provide great efficiency of operation. Set each head to a temp you find comfortable (cooling or heating) and let it run. As others have said do not overthink the issue. I have had two homes with mini splits installed, both Daiken brand and I have been very please to say the least.

Unit will either run cooling or heating not both at the same time. Read your owners manual talk with the installing contractor or the factory.

And now that you have efficient electric H/C add some solar to the roof.
