I’m submitting my entry for the Epoxy Coat contest.

I feel I deserve the Epoxy Coat floor.

When I started to research Epoxy Coat, fond memories of my days in
Hollywood and my lifelong dream to have a star on the walk next to my hero.

Well, my Hollywood dreams have been squashed by circumstances out of my control.
But if I were to win the contest, I believe that I could create my very own little walk of fame right in my garage!

And Epoxy Coat has what it takes!
It’s glossy and shinny, just like the bright lights.
It’s strong and sassy, just like me!
It’s easy to lay down on the floor...
No comments please!

Christine, girl to girl, I think I deserve this win just to show boys that a garage can be a girl's place too.

ps; Thought I'd give dd564 or whatever his name is something to think about!

Journal entry #3587 17 April 2011

I guess I could go on and on about how I just got back from Iraq and havent had time to do much of anything to my garage but that would be self serving.
I guess I shouldnt complain about having all that money saved up from my tour over there to be used on my garage and how 10 days after I got back my heat pump went out so it went towards a new unit for the house.
I prob shouldnt mention how my 900 sq foot garage needs something on the floor to keep dust down since my wife has asthma and my 5 year old son has allergies.
I bet if I said things like that it would seem like I'm trying to play to sympathy or something. No real man does such things anyways.
I guess if I were to mention things like that I'd have to mention how my 76 year old mother in law has moved in with us and I only have the garage left as my last bastion of manliness. My MIL lives with us, how much worse can it get than that?!? Holy ****, its no wonder I spend so much time in the garage.
Heck, I'd prob even say that the garage on the house has even been taken over by the wife for her car...a soul sucking front wheel drive appliance of a machine with no character like my vette has.
At least the vette stays parked in my Alamo of manliness...the detached garage. But my Alamo needs some type of floor to cover up all that fresh concrete.

Of course I'd never say these things in public as they would seem like I'd go to any lengths to win that beautiful epoxy coat flooring. It'd be beneath me to do such a thing.
Those other guys with their fancy smancy video editing skills, ppfffffht. I bet they dont even have the firing order for a SBC memorized. My skills are reserved for the garage and not some keyboard.
I guess I'll just have to consign myself to writing these things in my journal under 'garage journal' on my drive.

uh... 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2? Do they still make a V8? :D

Sure wish I had a 'vette with it's own garage.
This is the best I could do till I win....

Thanks rugerlady for even having a contest. This creates positive atmosphere and is a great way for you and others to interact and turn garage building and flooring into something you can charish for a long time. Any one who does win this will certainly be lucky. I've submitted my story many pages back and look forward to hearing the winner announced.

Thanks!

Epoxy-Coat of Many Colors Song
By Enzo

Back through the years
I go rememberin’ thru smiles n tears
Back to the seasons of my teens
I recall our old garage
And how it was packed and all hodge podge
The floor was concrete pebbles, ground to smithereens

Dad had an ol’ Corvette
And the engine sang like an 8 track cassette
We’d work on her Spring, Summer & Fall
Momma’d fix us both a snack
As we’d adjust each plug, pinion and the rack
Dad and I would bond and have a ball

But now those days are gone
It’s the coming of a new dawn
For my classic sweet ‘ol corvette and me
I can take the garage no more
That rough and pockmarked floor
So I have to do something , can’t you see

I need the floor to shine
An Epoxy-coat would make it fine
A Cycloaliphatic Heaven it would be
It would shine bright with no more dirt
A reflection I could see up my girlfriend’ s skirt
That would be happiness to me

Chorus:
Oh My! Epoxy-coat has many colors
And which one’s right for me
the clear coat will shine just like a mirror
and my garage will be heavenly
I’d never have to worry
Because of the lifetime warranty
So with Epoxy- coats of many colors
I could pick something subtle.... or flashy
I’m older now , my kids are grown
I spend time in the garage on my own
with my classic sweet old ‘Vette and me
I can take the garage no more
That rough and pockmarked floor
So you have to help me , can’t you see

Chorus:
Oh My! Epoxy-coat has many colors
And which one’s right for me
the clear coat will shine just like a mirror
and my garage will be heavenly
I’d never have to worry
Because of the lifetime warranty
So with Epoxy- coats of many colors
I could pick something subtle.... or flashy

Epoxy –coat is the only one for me!

I guess this is a good enough reason to post... since I've been lurking here and lusting after all the nice, clean looking garages on this site like TMZ outside Charlie Sheen's house.

"Winning!"

I deserve the Epoxy-Coat because this will be the equivalent of "giving-the-finger" to all my neighbors who smirk at my sad attempt at "do-it-yourself" lawn care. Yes, I decided to try and get rid of the weeds in my grass myself. I didn't want to pay "Joe Schmoe" lawn service $60 a month to come by once for 10 mins every month and spray my lawn. I'm a classic "do-it-myselfer". "I got this," I told myself convincingly. "I GOT THIS!”… I told my wife, unsurely.

“I don’t got this,” I told myself last month as I handed a check to my new lawn service company.

Maybe I lost this battle. But I will NOT lose the war! If I win, I will even leave my garage door up over night, with a lone light shining upon it like an art exhibit, just to brag to my neighborhood that YES, my garage is the best! You may have a nice green, luscious lawn that makes me want to lie down in and roll around on. But why don't you just feast your eyes on my shiny, tan, flake sparkled garage floor? I might even have to go slap my momma. What woman couldn't resist the temptation to leave the comfort of her Temperpedic bed and come make sweet love on that bad boy? I may not be able to take care of my lawn, but dangit, I know I can do my garage right. I’m a Man, gosh darn it. Like I said earlier… I got this!!

Formek,

you said you'd help me with the floor when I win?!! You didn't tell me you were injured... must be coming over for the Canadian beer, eh?!

Do you think ssathre will come help too? My wife and his g/f can go shopping while we etch my floor.. while the coating dries, we can even do a little fishing

Well......I don't need a new floor. I have one, it isn't coated yet. I don't think I want to coat it. I will be welding, plasma cutting and grinding and doing all sorts of bad things to my new floor. I have a 4 post lift on it, I'm constantly running cars and bikes inside all over it. I figure why spend all that money just to get all p***ed off over screwing up a nice paint job. At least if I screw up an uncoated floor, I can paint it later when I come to my senses and stop doing bad things to it. Besides, I think the real reason I haven't done it yet is because I'm to lazy......:dunno: Besides, I already bought floor stuff a year ago and it's still in the boxes in my cellar...go figure.

There once was a man from Orlando.
He had a garage that was just so-so.
He kept it quite neat,
But it seemed incomplete.
What he really needed was a new flo. (C’mon, work with me here)

His neighbor told him of a contest.
He must write a story better than the rest.
An Epoxy-Coat floor goes to the winner.
A floor so nice from it you could eat dinner.
He decided he’d give it his best.

Visions of glow flakes danced in his head.
He didn’t write a story, but a limerick instead.
A cunning linguist was he
As I’m sure you now see.
This next stanza may turn Christine red.

The contest judge is Christine McGuire.
A woman so hot, it seems she’s on fire.
It wasn’t beneath him to ****-up
To this woman who looked like a pin-up.
He hoped she sensed his desire.

He sat down at keyboard and began to compose.
He hunted and pecked, and out came the prose.
The floor will be his, of this you can be sure.
His words were off-color, but his motive was pure.
And it’s actions, not words as everyone knows.

All in good fun Christine. My neighbors across the street did their floor 2 weeks ago with Epoxy-Coat, and it looks absolutely awesome. I gotta get me some a that!

You can buy it at Lowe's as per Christine McGuire or @www.Epoxy-Coat.com

" Just wanted to finally share some really good news, Lowe's is taking us on as a vendor. We are starting in 160 stores across the country. Limited colors to be stocked at first. The first shipments rolled out yesterday. They should be in stores in about a week!
This is huge for our company, and we are all very excited about it. Hopefully we will get an order in the next month or so for another 600 stores (I have heard such rumors). We have been working our butts off to get this rolling.
If I have been slow to respond to anyone here, this is why, this project has been alot of work.
If anyone would like info about a store that may be near them stocking our product feel free to PM me and I will check it for you.

WOOHOO!!

I would like to enter this contest, the main reason why you should pick me is that I will be doing a 30x40 floor so you are pretty much guaranteed to sell me 2 more kits so it will match. Another reason is that the building is to be a wood shop and I don't like a dirty floor. The good news is that I am partially color blind and going with a tan epoxy with flecks will solve most of my annoyance issues!

A new epoxy floor will complete my 8 year build on this building. I built the pole barn 8 years ago and finally got around to putting in 200 AMP electric service, and wiring it last fall. I had the concrete poured last fall and have the spray foam scheduled for the first of May.

Wow.

I was just browsing through some of the photo albums people have, and I came across this proposed layout under ssathre's profile!

A bit odd, especially for this contest.

:wtf: :headscrat :wtf: :headscrat :wtf: :headscrat :wtf: :headscrat :wtf: :headscrat

Wait a second... what's that in the bottom left hand corner?
First I will point out the positive aspect that was a good catch dd564 You have a good eye.

Now the Negative! :wtf: It is still not as bad as you saying And I
I'd love to get the floor tiles, but those cost as much as your living room remodeling project.

That's why I'm in this thread trying to win some free epoxy-coat.

This is a good story but leave the kit for some one who wants it, not some one that cant afford what he really wants and will be using it just because it is free.

Because formek and Epoxy-Coat go together like Milk and Cookies :bounce:
