First I will point out the positive aspect that was a good catch dd564 You have a good eye.

Now the Negative! :wtf: It is still not as bad as you saying And I

Because formek and Epoxy-Coat go together like Milk and Cookies :bounce:

All I was saying is floor tiles are another option, but not an option for me.
I could say I REALLY REALLY want a floor covered in Gold, but that's not practical either.

I'll be doing epoxy whether I win or not so I want it at least equally as bad as anyone else. I think we all have the same needs and wants here. I'm just trying to humor it up some on a personal level.

It has been fun doing this. I hadn't made any videos like these before so it has been a fun learning experience. The chance to win some much needed epoxycoat is just the icing on the cake. (At the same time, this has gotten more competitive than I originally thought.) It has been fun giving all of you a rough time.

Christine,

I'm just repeating what was already stated... of course you're invited! Surely, the boss will understand the value in sending you to Canada with the product (I'm picturing a sweepstakes millionaire kind of ceremony may be a bit much, but thanks anyway)..

BBQ and Canadian beer, some ice wines and maple syrup (fresh right now). I make a killer salmon on cedar plank, marinated in whisky and maple syrup.. amazing dish! With croissants hot off the bbq with ice cream... I swear, you'll want to stay! dang... I'm hungry again!

BTW, formek... bring the bike when you come! There's a great road here with all kinds of backdrops and sweeps.. I'll get my bike cleaned up and ready!

So, I'm going to put my last effort post in now..
I have Easter dinner planned for tomorrow and the kids and I are doing a forest clean up day on Saturday. I won't have a lot of time to play here and I don't want to forget to post.

I decided my wedding post should be convincing enough, but felt that you really should know me before deciding the winner.
This is a 're purposed' piece I did last year as part of a team building exercise. The idea was to let people know who you are outside of the office. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks again Christine and Epoxy Coat for the opportunity, for the great contest atmosphere and mostly for the new found friends on GJ.. A friend request was sent out to a few of you because of this contest..

One last thing... watch for a familiar pink dress in this presentation. dd564, I swear I was just having fun with you
I don't expect the 'mistress' to bother you anymore!

Yes, ssathre.. camtasia and I know just enough to break things:confused:
Much training needed. :headscrat

BTW everyone, just to be honest..
Until Tuesday this week, my current house was to receive a new EPOXY COAT floor by the summer (free or not).

Tonight, the wife and I will likely be putting an offer on another house.
It's a long story, but in a nutshell, my current new home would be too expensive to renovate to our liking and it's not likely be our last house.

So we are putting an offer on what we expect to be our last home!
Very exciting! Lot size will go from 45w/98deep to 50w/600+deep!
From backing onto other homes to backing on a river!
Crossing our fingers, toes and anything else we can!

Oh yeah.. and if it all comes together, the kit will still cover the new garage this summer
New garage was built in /09 and I'll be going from 324sq/ft to 496:bounce:

One way or another, I'm getting a new
EPOXY COAT floor this year!

Have a great Easter weekend and good luck to all in the contest!

Camtasia is pretty easy... at least compared to Final cut or Premiere, but that’s comparing apples to oranges.

Good luck on the new house! It must be an exciting time. We have been saving up to build for quite some time and then the company I work for got bought out last year and the new owners are closing our location down. (My last day is December 31) The house is paid off and we don’t want to move away from the area and family, so I only get to build the garage. Since that is where I will be spending the majority of my time it’s not so bad, almost like a new house, sort of. (At least it’s paid for and we don’t have to worry about some bank trying to take it)

Not ofter that I get to say "I'm sorry to hear that" and "That's excellent" in the same response!

Sorry about the work thing.. sure hope it works out for you (it usually always works out for the better)

But I'm glad to hear that your on top of the finance side of it and are in a great position to hold on to your dream. Personally, I think I'm mortgaged for life! On our side of the fence, that puts me in the majority (or at least I like to believe that). Divorce and kids make saving pretty much impossible? But if someone has advice, feel free to PM me the secret!

OK... back to the humour!

Thanks. Its not much, we took the cheap route and bought a very small house that had been sitting vacant for a couple of years. lo balled the offer, got the house, gutted it and remodled before moving in. I did most of the work so it was on the cheap, again. So its like a new house, on the inside at least... the house was built in 1898, was added onto 3 times and its still only a little over 800 SF!

Don't sell it short!
Takes a talented person to run/fix a house like that, and a smart guy to buy something he can pay for. Oh ****.. now I'm thinking I should buy something smaller!

Well The tone here has changed a bit. I guess it is time to get real. I am married, first mirage for me and wife. We both weighted. I was 39 years old she was 37 when we got married at the end of 2007 we both wanting kids so My first son was born May 2009. A few weeks before he was born we bought a house and moved in to it I am confident this is the house where I will retire. Then we decided we wanted two Kids. Number 2 son was born at the end of 2010 they are only about 19 month apart. I think they call that Irish twin. Before number 2 was born I decided to build a 30 X 40. this was a long time dream.
Well number 2 is here the building is being built now. I to will put down Epoxy coat win or lose. I have not ordered my floor but I did order samples to pick colors and flakes. (thanks Christine McGuire at www.Epoxy-Coat.com for the samples) The concrete was just pored and needs at least 30 days to cure so I have to weight before I can apply it..

My best friend and his wife were in a motorcycle accident in Feb. and she did not survive the accident. He is still in the hospital. He lost most of his left leg. This has been a roller coaster ride of a year. Win or loose I must admit you guys and this thread has put a smile on my every day thank you all .

formek,

Sorry to hear about your friends wife. I lost a very dear friend the same way and I know exactly how troubling that can be. Hopefully he will have a speedy rehabilitation so he can get out of the hospital. Sadly, it will take a lot more time to recover from losing his wife.

Well, I wasn't gonna post up because this story is so unbelievable and still unfolding, but I think at the very least it is a good form of therapy.

Two weeks ago, my father was scheduled to go in for a routine **** probe (colonoscopy). Now as far as I knew before this, my father had the healthiest set of bowels I've ever heard before. He's the king of flatulence around these parts.

The doctor comes out to talk to us after my dad's scope and wants to know how long he's been sick for. We tell him that he hasn't been sick at all, no complaints whatsoever. Dad has a cancerous lesion in his colon.

The next day I get a call at work to go check on my aunt (single, never married, like a second mother to me) is in the emergency room. Long story short, she has a 2cm stone in her gall bladder that is causing her excruciating pain. Pain killers, fluids, wait for the inflamation to go down, removal in 6-8 weeks unless it flairs up again in the mean time.

A week later as we are getting more testing done for my father and dealing with the hap-hap-happy news that my dad has cancer we get another call from my aunt. She had blood clots in her lungs a couple of years ago and now she's a little scared because she's short of breath. She agrees to let us take her in to the emergency room again. Good news is no clots, bad news is pneumonia.

The very next day I get home from work and within a few minutes I am catching my father as his knees buckle from pain he is experiencing in his back. Is this cancer realated? He thinks it is kidney stone pain as he has experienced them before. Back to the ER we go. Yes he has a stone, but he passes it and comes home.

During the next week my dad is having 2 separate MRI scans a day apart. Find out the dumb *** tech screwed up the second scan and dad will have to go in next week to have it re-done. The worst part though, is that the radiologist told the tech that she needed to scan further down before my dad was done and she just didn't do it.

Last night at about midnight my aunt calls. Seeing as she never married, she stayed living at home with my grandmother. As grandma is 86 years old and has multiple medical problems, this is a good thing. She tells us that she is calling an ambulance for grandma (who is adamantly agianst this) because she is short of breath with oxygen on and she will keep us posted. 30 minutes later she calls us again to tell us what hospital she is at (not the one that she, my wife and I all work at) and to stay home, she will keep us posted as to what is happening.

This brings us to today. Didn't here anymore from my aunt so my wife calls the ER at the other hospital to ask to speak to her. The nurse goes to get her and comes back to the phone and says she and grandma are both asleep. We thank her anyways and both go to work. 2 hours later my mother calls me in a bit of a panic (I don't think the poor woman can handle much more) that my grandmother has had a major heart attack. Dad is having another scope at my hospital today by the surgeon to get a good feel for what he will be doing in the weeks to come in the OR. Cue to me leaving work for a family emergency.

My sister comes and relieves me at the hospital with grandma, I go back to my hospital to pick my 20 month old that is with my mother and bring him home. We manage to get grandma transferred to our hospital, dad is sleeping the anaesthesia off, and my 2 boys are having dinner with my mom.

Believe it or not, this is my life right now. I think maybe I should buy a lottery ticket. This is so far out there that I couldn't even dream of making a story like this up. My sister and I are convinced that people must think we are lunatics and just making this up for attention or something.

Hug your loved ones guys!

Ryan

Holy cow, I go to work during the day. I come back home an night, and this place is turning into a gosh darn love fest.

I'm darn near welling up over here in Minnesota.

Cool to see a bunch of strangers getting to know each other over a contest like this. Good job by Rugerlady for putting this contest together.

I'm excited about the next contest, whatever it might be, but making these videos and coming up with good posts is getting exhausting.

I'll need a beer after 11:00 CST tomorrow night.

Still waiting for ssathre's final run at 11:59 Eastern Time tomorrow night.

Too funny...

your not implying that my wife sabotaged the servers while she was on "your date".

So while washing my car last night in my garage with floor drains but no fancy epoxy floor covering (hint hint) I look down at my grungy concrete and I wonder if this is what the bottom of a lake looks like. That gets me to further thinking….
I have often thought that fish that are caught and released must be shunned by their fish communities once they re-enter they water. Like backwoods Alabaman's who are abducted by aliens...then sent back to earth to tell their stories.

Harry the fish...after being released back into the water swims up to his group of buddies the next day....

"Harry, where the heck you been for the past year? (A day is like a year to a fish....)

Harry...."Dudes....weirdest dang thing. I was lounging around near the bottom, snackin on bottom food when SCHHUUUMMPPP, I was flying right up through the water....faster and faster...and I couldn't fight it. Then...all the sudden...I was in another world...and I could barely breathe! There were these HUGE alien looking dudes....and they seemed kinda "happy" that I was in their weird alien spaceship! I was laying on some kind of operating table...with a bunch of lines and numbers on it...and they started doing medical experiments on me! There was all of this NOISE...and bright lights flashing....and bad smells...it was AWFUL! Then...all the sudden...they were poking around in my mouth. They held me up and looked at me with their big beady eyes....and then BAMMO....I fell right back down into our world again...a little sore but OK! I swam up to you guys as fast as I could to tell you what happened!

"Yeah....right Harry....whatever the frick you say..."

Harry's buddies shun him forever....mocking him turning him into the crazy fish of the school.

Then...

All the sudden.....

Tom's gone....

Then Jimbo...........

Then Bart

And the fishes start to wonder....Is Harry extracting his revenge on his buddies?

Or did the aliens get them.....

So, you see how many brain cells I waste in a car wash???? I need help!!! I need an epoxy floor that doesn’t look like the bottom of a lake. I need to win this contest to save my sanity!!!

I lurk on the forum here but don't post.
I just bought my Epoxy-Coat kit this morning for my brand new house.

Good luck to all of the people who have contributed so far! I know who I'd vote for!

no last minute video from me. we had company tonight that stayed longer than expected, but had a really good time. at any rate, there was no way I could finish it it time... that server down time yesterday killed me. freaking amazon

good luck to everyone. I sure had a lot of fun over the past few weeks, thanks to rugerlady and epoxy coat for letting us run amok! I met a few new people, made some friends, got my **** kicked by dd564, had a few laughs, got ran over by dd564 and then, I was cyber stalked by dd564. seriously, my kind of guy and a very worthy opponent. cheers brother, your welcome in my garage anytime... you just have to bring the beer!
