I've been lurking for some time and figured I'd join the fun and post some photos of my garage. The house is only a few years old, but I have, over the years, collected some very old furniture to use for workbenches and cabinets.

First...a disclaimer. Not long after we moved in, my wife's grandmother moved to our area from Oklahoma along with 50 plus years of stuff from her life. She moved from a large house in OK, to a very small apartment here in TX. So...my garage became her storgage facility. And so it was, until about 6 months ago when I decided to take matters into my own hands and had the mother of all garage sales and had my wife's relatives come and collect what they wanted from grandma's stash. Most of the rest went to Goodwill. I'm almost free from the grandma debris, but not totally...enough however, to get my 54 Ford project back on track.

I'll post more photos soon, but to start out, here's a photo of my workbench area. The workbench is a science lab table, cut in half, placed up against the wall. (the other half is my other workbench). It's from my high school science teaching days. They were tearing down the school I was teaching at and the labs had been built in the 1930's. They were going to throw these glorious lab tables in the rubbish heap, so I asked and was granted permission to haul one of them off. It's all solid oak and has lots of character. All the drawers have various things written in them, like "Betty Loves Tommy", etc. I even left the gum stuck underneath.

Again...more to come.
