Hello everyone! I see a ton of amazing ideas and garages on here and really enjoy reading everyone's builds. I found this site after looking at epoxy flooring. I'm 27 just bought my first small house a few months ago. After re painting every square inch trim ceilings included I figured I'd start on my small garage. It was hammered sadly I didn't take before and after pics. The garage had holes all in it and only 1 inside light fixture. I added 2 big fluorescent fixtures, then sprayed it semi gloss white. Just finished floors. I had to make it a 2 weekend project by doing half at a time because I had no where to store my stuff in the time being. Anyway, here's the flooring finished.

Currently waiting on clear coat to dry on second half. I got one 28 inch cabinet (gladiator) from lowes, I'll wait for a sale to get more. My dilemma now is to mount it on wall or use there very expensive track system, $10 a piece?!

Anyway here's my little house, sorry for long intro.

Thanks guys. It's valspar you can custom tint it for free. Forgot the green name. I used silver flakes then cleared it.hopefully it holds up. I've read it's not the best to use water based epoxy but I had already bought it months ago.

Now if I could find a sale on gladiator cabinets id be set. Amazon seems to have best prices right now.

A very nice start. What will you do in the garage, as in hobbies? All kids of folks here doing all kinds of things. We like pictures, lots and lots of pictures.

Welcome to GJ! congrats and great work on the floor!

I've seen the Gladiator GearWall stuff on ebay anywhere from 100 to 250 bucks for a complete kit.

Thanks guys! I'll be using it to work on my bike and car. I do track days with them both so always plenty of stuff to do in the garage. I'll look those cleats up appreciate all the help from everyone.

It's a "2 car garage" which is more realistically a 1. You can fit 2 if you only use garage for parking haha.

So I bought 2 gladiator wall mounts just to try them. Wth am I missing this is crazy the way they mount it's obviously leaning forward. Even with one below it it's still leaning bc of the bracket up stop sticking out. I'm about to just wall mount them and return my undrilled stick if this is the way they work.

Welp, the way Gladiator gets you is that they want you to add a second Geartrack 18" below the top one for mounting cabinets. This offsets the forward lean, but is $10 more! I ended ponying up for the extra track peices in my garage, but added a coupler over accessories they make to fully use the system.

I have another and held it up there and it still leans forward bc the bracket on back of the shelf. It's just not as bad but still not level. Idk why they didn't just include a second bracket...

I know the Husky set-up is a little similar with their Trackwall system. I purchased their upper cabinet piece and opted to use their track to install it. It also leaned forward. They however provide you with a little metal piece that you can add onto the bottom of the back if you are using their wall mount. This piece helps the cabinet to sit level.

Congrats on your first house at 27--as Adam Carolla would say, "winner"! ( I listen to Ace on the house way too much) I have a buddy who is a huge Jets fan and he'd lose his mind over your floor. His wife is a Giants fan so she'd never allow him to paint their garage floor green with white flakes...

Are you here in DFW as well? The outside shots have a North Texas look to them.

I screwed my gladiator cabinets right to the wall. Not a problem if you KNOW where you want them. I drilled some extra holes so I could get screws into some studs. I didn't want them hanging of the track and figured I could use the track for other purposes.

Not to clutter it up but this is my set up.

If I want to move them someday... I'll just unscrew them.

Put this up today to get my spare wheels out of the way. I like the look but it makes me really nervous, anyone else have this cheap style? Got it off amazon for $55. I might run a chain through them and lag it to rafter studs just in case this let's loose.

I had the same issue with my gladiator cabinets and just stuck some wood to the back with double sided tape. Worked perfect.

I've had 6 of the top cabinets installed for the last year and a half and I've already re-organized and moved them around twice so I'm happy I chose to go with the tracks. That and the accessories come in pretty handy too.

Getting an insulated door or insulating it yourself if your okay with the look will make a ton of difference as well. Insulation up in your attic will also help, can't offer any suggestions product wise though. Good luck! I just moved into a new place with an uninsulated garage door and its definitely on my agenda to get it replaced.

Yeah, they sell a kit at lowes to insulate the garage door, I may do that, or just use the same stuff I'm doing addict with. They want $75 and I'd need 2 kits. Styrofoam also a thought.

Welcome and no apologies over a long intro.

The house looks nice and I am amazed at how your floor looks. I am not a fan of green, but the color green you used turned out awesome. I think I might have to entertain the idea of a green floor in mine when it comes time.

Nice house and garage floor color.
You will get the most heat loss from your attic. Insulate it extremely well. I replaced my uninsulated garage doors with new foam filled double sided metal doors. They make it much quieter and also cut down they utility cost.

I just wedged some of the styrofoam from the packaging behind the lower portion of my cabinets to keep them parallel with the wall. Hasn't moved in over a year.

Got the door done. Going to just go with the spray in insulation on ceiling. I could barley stand handling this stuff, had me itching like crazy. Going to go with spray in to save time and itching.

Added a 240v plug and heater

It's finally nice in the garage, last year was very unpleasant working in here, now I'm in a t shirt working comfortable.

What heater did you go with? And where area do you live in? Just wondering if you deal with Canadian winters or more moderate US temps.

Nothing near what you guys get as far as cold. I live in East Texas, 19° about the coldest we'll get here. It's usually stays in the lower 40's around this time of year.

It's a king heater, works well. Last week it's been 39° and the garage stays around 65°.
