Hi Guys,

Looking to pour a new floor in the next month or so for my new 12x12m shed (40x40) and I'm stuck trying to decide what option of floor coating is best for me.

What I'm doing
- Storing cars
- Working on cars, dragging around trolley jacks, spilling oil and brake fluid, welding and grinding.

What I want
- Stain proof (or highly resistant to stain)
- Hard wearing
- Non Slip
- Easy to clean
- Easy to DIY
- One colour finish in something light or natural concrete look, not interested in flake etc

Initially after reading through the forum I was sold on using the Rust Bullet system but I've gotten onto the Australian supplier for Rust Bullet and it will cost me up to $6k just for paint if i wanted to go for a system with a clear coat on top of standard grey; less for just the standard primer. By comparison I've also gotten a few quotes for professionally applied epoxy systems, $5k for a professionally applied 2coat system, $9500 for a 3coat system including a flake applied. Given the cost of the rust bullet compared to getting someone else to do the floor I've ruled it out and thinking I'd like to tackle it DIY to keep costs down.

I've narrowed it down to a densifier with sealant or epoxy system depending on what is readily available in Australia. With regards to the densifier I'm not sure of what's best in terms of separate densifier with penetrating sealer or an all in one combo.

Can anyone comment on how a densifier/sealant compares to an epoxy system and what products available in Australia you'd recommend?

Cheers

What I used was ghost shield products. Lithitek 4500 as the Densifier. And the 8505 sealer. Do not know if the products are sold locally for you but look into them. The 8505 is US DoT approved for bus garages. Oil, brake fluid and antifreeze resistant. Also resists salt. Allows concrete to breathe too.

Unfortunately I can only find north american distributors for the Ghost Shield products. Will probably cost me a mint to get them transported to Australia as well.
I've had a look into the products and they look perfect for what I'm after. Hopefully someone can recommend something similar available down under

Stevo, does this product cover other colors? I have an acid stained floor and am not happy with the color (it's a blotchy light gold and grey mottled color) I had a sealer on it but it's been stripped away so now needs a sealant. I was thinking that this product might solve both issues? New color with a built in flat or low gloss sealer?
