New floor jack

In the market for a new floor jack, had a buddy suggest the yellow 3 ton Daytona from Harbor freight. Looking for suggestions on a durable jack.

I have heard great things about the Daytona, I have a 3 ton Harbor Freight model and it has been great. I have no garage so it has served well using outdoors for days at a time. So i got it about 7 years ago and gets used a lot. So I think the longevity has been very good.

I haven't had my yellow 3-ton Daytona for long, but man is it a nice jack. The hydraulics are butter-smooth. Having magnets to pull shavings out of the fluid as the jack breaks in is nice, and if the upgraded seals are a reality, I expect many years of service from mine. I don't think I've seen a single negative review on it.

I have two 3 Ton Low Profile that I use to lift a Honda Civic for oil changes, no issues.

Any good aluminum floor jacks? I like the Daytona, but would like something lighter.

Depends on your budget and intended use. I have a Norco 2-ton that does really well.

$600 is OK if it is safe and reliable.

There really isn't a better choice wrt quality over price. My 3 ton Craftsman worked well for the past 12 years. If it fails, it is a no brainer to get a Daytona. The only question is which type. There are many versions now. The yellow one is the best. But it might not be the most appropriate, depending on whether you have a truck or sports car, which requires either long reach or low profile.

I bought the yellow HF Daytona last November before Thanksgiving. It was on sale for $179. It is a beast - heavy, large, stable and it works very well. I thought my old Cman jack was heavy duty but the Daytona is bigger and heavier - to me size and weight aid stability when jacking up my vehicles. If you can wait a little while, see if it goes on sale. But even at full price, it is worth it.

Bought the yellow Daytona jack last week. Used it twice, works perfectly. Smooth, fast pump to max lift, stable. So far it’s great.

I was gifted this one from Costco.

It doesn't have the long reach like the Daytona, but it's easier to transport in the car.

I use a Compac floor jack. Made in Denmark. I have been really happy with it, though it was actually recalled and replaced free of charge. Another good choice would be AC Hydraulics as someone mentioned above.

Is snap on supposed to provide some level of legitimacy or?

Just wait until you find out about all the snap on stuff they sell at costco.

Get the original Daytona jack. Don't get the subsequent add-on additions.
