New Floor Options

New floor poured in garage July 4th 24x44. What should I do to keep it protected but not make it so I cant do something more later in life? Clear sealer or nothing ? No heavy use here a parked vehicle in a bay and in the rest couple work benches for handy man stuff. I need some time to save up for a step up for all fancy floors I see here. Matts? ect interested in opinions.

Densify and penetrating sealer, or even use a containment mat. I know the last of last years AutoFloorGuards are on sale.

I'm in the same situation as "hapbob". I was going to epoxy the floor, but prefer a more concrete look.
If I'm going to put a sealer on, how do I prep the floor? The workers did leave some paint spots, drywall mud and some tiny overspray spots of wood stain on the floor...

Also, I have some motorcycles with fairly sharp edge / rusted center stands. Would a penetrating sealer be better to stand up to that or can I use a regular surface sealer?

With a penetrating sealer, there is really nothing to hold up so to speak. It is a way to protect the floor without changing the looks. We have had more and more people using clear Rust Bullet over a prepped floor and that looks great. We always suggest using a mat under your kick stand and we can send a piece at no charge.

If you like the sealed look, you want a topical sealer as pictured. A penetrating sealer is great but will never capture that look as they are invisible. Invest in a few rubber floor tiles to take the abuse from the kick-stand. Another popular way to go is a landing pad. A RaceDeck or equal poly-tile with edging all the way around, just for the bikes.

Also... you can prep the entire floor with a 60 grit screen on a floor buffer/sander, it should take off the mess from the painters too.

1 - what is coverage per gallon
2 - how does it handle fluids being spilled? (Motor oil, gas, etc)
3 - what about slipperyness when wet? Can anti-slip be added?

Coat 1: 325 sqft per gal
Coat 2: 400 sq ft per gal
Oil is fine, gas will hurt it. Frankly, if you are leaking gas, fix the leak. Easily repaired if you do make a spill. MMA loves to bond to itself.
Always recommend our soft-skid product. Mix into last coat and apply.

Lastly, if you want a clear that is "bullet proof" check out our Nohr-S product.
It's a premium product but it takes a lickn.

Super Diamond Clear by Euclid Chemical is a great option. I've done 2 projects and my brother has done 4 with great results. Just finished my 16x60 garage addition... used 5 gallon pail ... 2 coats .. used a color pack. Only prep was thorough cleaning with high pressure water. Really nice finish. Color packs are costly though... min buy is 6 packs and I used 2 per 5 gal pail.. gave one to my brother.. have 3 left over. I think you'll like it.

Can you give me more info on this sealer? Can I do more with it down the road or will it need to be removed and prepped for epoxy ect ?

Absolutely. And we have several options. If you go with a densifier first, that work is permanent. Never needs to be redone. The second part, the sealer, we would want to talk about what specifically your want to protect against.

As an FYI also our 40' container of 2016 Auto Floor guards hits our warehouse tomorrow. They are not the prettiest mat in the world but they do a darn good job of keeping things off the floor.
