So here is what I did today. I started with the ugly floors from one of my other threads.

This is an indoor sunroom.

It took about 4 hours to get to this point. After I get all the dust up, they did not have the dust shroud, so that sucked, but it was not as dusty as I though it would be, I will be waxing a spot that will be under some built ins. This will be a test for the next step. I am hoping that it will look good, but if not acid stain it is.

So waxing is out, it looked just as dark as before, and was not doing it for my wife. She is picking out some stain tonight. Hopefully I can that ordered and here for the weekend.

I will be hand grinding the edges, but fortunately I am furring out the wall about an inch, so I don't need to get too close. The walls are solid brink and cinderblock, so I need to get some electrical outlets, internet, and satellite in the room.

Have you considered epoxy? Maybe a light color epoxy with flakes would look really nice.

Wife put the kibosh on that.

Stain has been ordered, so this weekend is finish up the edges and the two small steps, next week stain, seal and wax.

How much did the HD charge you to rent that floor grinder if you don't mind me asking? Good progress by the way.

65 for the grinder, 35 for the pad. I picked the newest looking one, the other ones were well used.

I just cleaned the floor till the water was clear, so letting it dry now. Looks pretty damn good as far as I am concerned.

It looks better in person. It looks like a leather chair. The end is sight. I hope to be done by New Years. I am off work for two weeks in just over a week, so that should help.

Time. I hear you. That's the biggest problem I face - not enough of it.

Thanks!

I have the final coat on now, and will wax tomorrow.

The next step for the room is to painting the ceiling Friday, and furring out the concrete block walls Saturday. I have to add foam insulation to the outside wall. I also have to run a number of wires for speaker, cat5, and electric. It should be ready for drywall on Sunday. I ought to be able to move into it Tuesday. Happy winter vacation to me!

So change of plans. My wife wants to have everyone over for Christmas, so it is now time to move into the room incomplete. She would rather have the room than have it half finished if I start in on the walls, and am unable to finish. It is a fair argument. Completed pictures by Monday. I have lots to move.
