I plan on having my floor poured here in the next few months and I was thinking about coating the floor. About 2500sq ft. How long do I need to wait with the new concrete before I can coat the floor? Epoxy coatings the best? It will be used to fix cars but not daily. Mainly just working on the weekends and etc. Thanks!

That would probably put me in November and close to December. Would it be best to wait until spring when it's warm to coat the floor? I don't want to have any issues by doing in that close to winter.

NHR, let's back up just a bit. You have plenty of time to figure out when to place, but the first thing you need to decide is what you want to place. And that will take you until December, anyway!

Decide on what sealant, covering, paint, epoxy, tile, etc. you think you might want, and then take a look at that product's manufacturer recommendation. Good luck; you gotta lot of reading ahead of you.

Depending on where you are (update your personal info) November/December might not be a bad time to install a coating. Most of the Southeast can go year round.

Wait a month then perform a moisture test. Alkalinity is also a good thing to test for.

There are several options. We have the Rust Bullet product ( I would do 4 coat system and treat it as a shop) A good high solids garage floor epoxy will be easy to work with but give you a good build. Its the same resin as the 100% solids epoxy system they just add some solvent to the hardener.

Legacy and Armorpoxy also have great epoxy systems and there have been some great reviews about the Nohr S.

If you go with an epoxy, do the prep work, prime it, coat it and top coat it. Don't skip on any of those.
