new forum topic idea

We need a place to vent polictical concerns. I want to be able to complain about the illegal aliens and crooks running our so called government without being banned from the forum.

I would love to see a Storage Solutions/Organization area. I have already pulled sooooo many cool garage ideas off of this site. Organization is not my strong suit so whatever ideas I could get would be oh so appreciated!!!!!

Or being allowed to work on your own vehicle in your own yard or driveway. I'm afraid I would resort to civil disobedience if faced with that one .

I have seen many forums degraded with such discussions that are not relevent to what the forum is about.

Fairlaneman you post some good informtion here and I read what you say but this time I have to disagree with you. I do hear and see your point but I just think here is not the place for it.

As a member of more sites than I can recall, I only have this to say - stop printing it here, it does no good. If you want to write, then write those in power from your respective states - tell them what your issues are - get something done - become part of the solution rather than a continuation of the issue that falls on deaf ears.

I would rather see a forum topic devoted to say paint and body work, or prehaps a machinist/machining area. I am very interested and engaged in the political discourse of the day as it relates to our country, but I come here to kick back, relax, see cool stuff and get new ideas, and sometimes even have a laugh or two. I do not come here to get all heated up over politics, no thank you very much!

You know what they say - never discuss politics or religion in polite company... I just see it leading to too many arguments and toes getting stepped on through disagreements when the reason we're coming here is to escape some of daily life and talk shop - same as when I walk out to my own shop and leave the rest of the world behind for a few hours!

If you want a political topic forum,with people of simular interests and lifestyles,go to shopfloortalk.com . It's pretty much unmoderated,anything goes,but kept separate from the regular shop/fab forums. I don't spend much time there,but it does get interesting once in a while.

I belong to numerous forums and moderate a couple. Almost 100% of the time and I say almost.....a political thread or religous thread will get locked or dumped due to the fact that it will start out civil then things turn to hatred with the name calling starting, etc. I don't post a lot on this site but visit it almost daily for the ideas, talk, and pics of garages. So this is another vote for NO POLITICAL FORUM
