Hello all. I'm David from BC, first time home owner lucky enough to find a place with a 3 car garage in my budget. I'm a gearhead and my garage is currently filled with a fiberglass boat resto project, 7 or 8 (maybe 9) motorcycles and motorcycle projects between my wife and I, a couple project cars, a small portable offshore hoist, and I'm slowly compiling sheetmetal working equipment.
Coming here in regards to door openers. It's a 3 car garage with 3 single doors. I'd love to turn 2 of the singles into one double but was quoted $18k, wayyy out of my budget. The overhead door openers limit how high I can lift a car on my hoist by alot, but I don't have the side clearance for a wall mounted opener (6 inch in the middle of 2 doors, and 2 inches between the doors and side walls)
But one of the overhead door openers stripped it's gears today and I really don't want to put another overhead opener in it, so I'm going to be looking for creative solutions...
