Just started digging through some of the garage-mahal's here looking for ideas...
Hopefully going to start a new garage build later this summer so I can have some place to work on the toys - only reason I can get 2 cars in my current attached 2 car garage is I have a 4 post in one bay... problem is, you can't fit a 21 foot long F250 into a 19 foot deep garage and you can't even start to get it on a lift with a standard 7 foot high door... I built an 8x12 gambrel shed last year so this should be similar, just bigger
Considering building it myself other than having someone else do the foundation and concrete work. Current plan is 18 wide, 28 deep, gambrel roof maxing out around 14' 9" because I have to stay under 15' and to give me a little room for error... Bought the essentials version of Chief Architect to start, may opt for the pro version down the road so I can do blueprints. Looking at 2 post versus 4 post for the new garage, leaning towards another 4 post with the sliding jacks... not completely comfortable with the idea of putting a 21 foot long truck on a 2 post and since I'm used to a 4 post now, that should be a no brainer.
